ssl_error_no_cypher_overlap

When trying to open https://broadcity.in/ or https://pornbay.org/, I get the error messages ERR_SSL_VERSION_OR_CIPHER_MISMATCH or SSL_ERROR_NO_CYPHER_OVERLAP no common encryption algorithm(s). (according to different browsers)

I presume this has something to do with that I am using an old operating system, Windows 7, and upgrading systems is the ultimate solution. However, at least recently, for work-related reasons beyond my control, I cannot upgrade the computer to any newer system.

Is there any other way to solve this issue (at least temporarily, for the next few months)?

Which ones? Windows 7 has no support for TLS 1.3 or the very few cipher suites broadcity.in allows, but the newest versions of Firefox and Chrome that will run on it use their own TLS stacks and shouldn't show this problem.

In Pornbay's case, they go all the way down to TLS 1.0 and TLS_RSA_WITH_AES_128_CBC_SHA, making this error very puzzling.

Ty a lot, i just upgraded my browsers and everything went back to normal. didnt notice i was using fossil browsers......

Then I'm even more curious as to exactly how old they were :gshifty: Anyway, Chrome dropped Windows 7 support on version 109, but the Thorium fork and Firefox haven't. And https://rtfreesoft.blogspot.com/ offers a variety of modern browsers for old systems, all the way back to Windows 95.

With mitmproxy you can "upgrade" the TLS abilities of anything that can be made to use a proxy and accept self-signed certs, but that's like flamethrower vs. candle on this scenario. (Let's not even mention the possibility of backporting Windows libraries and adding entries to the import table of any program that refuses to run, nya...)
