No, you didn't read that phrase correctly:

I don't want particular information but would you advise me to stick with 1.8.9 in the meantime as well/ How serious is the bug?

i'm not sure it is a bug at all. i just had 2 'odd' encounters which didn't get me banned but caused me not to trust that version.
if you didn't have issüs with 1.8.9 i would keep using that. at least i went back to 1.8.9 for now.
