As the online battle against file-sharers heats up with governments and ISPs forced into the arena, those opposed to being monitored are investigating counter-measures. Soon the Pirate Bay team will introduce IPREDATOR, a service that promises to make global Internet users more anonymous than with existing VPN services.

Pirate Bay Announces IPREDATOR Global Anonymity Service | TorrentFreak (http://torrentfreak.com/pirate-bay-announces-ipredator-global-anonymity-service-090323/)

You can apply for the beta here (http://ipredator.se/).

I guess it was a April Fools' joke, because i dont read anything(nowhere) from any beta-tester.

Now you say it, the service was set to debut on April 1st... although that could be because of the new swedish anti-piracy law that gives the movie, music and game industries power to gather evidence by themselves, which will take effect that same day, from what I've read.

Also, I think ipredator.se wouldn't still be accepting applications if the whole thing was a joke - although on the other side I have yet to receive their e-mail.

Furthermore, have a look at this quote from their Web site:

our service is right now in a beta stage. it looks like we will release it around wednesday. sign up now to start using it as soon as we're stable.

If it's a joke, it's a very good one.

Update:

Der von den Betreibern des BitTorrent-Trackers "The Pirate Bay" angekündigte VPN-Service "IPREDator" stößt auf reges Interesse. Deutlich mehr als 100.000 Voranmeldungen wurden bereits verzeichnet.....

Sorry for the bump.

Did any of you ever get the free trial e-mail? I applied for the beta, but it never arrived. The site is still up.

It's non-official, and I have no links to provide, but one of my friend was beta tester for Ipredator. He said to me that this project was now dead, since bank accounts belonging to The Pirate Bay Four has been frozen by Sweden’s official debt collection agency.

Moved. Thanks for the info - as you can see in the post above yours, I was wondering what happened to this. :frown:

Looked very promising, I was wondering why I never got mail but I guess this was the reason why :(

Sorry for the bump.

After five months, I got the e-mail message. It included a unique link I had to use to register. I clicked it and was led to their homepage - whose favicon and menu reminded me of Relakks, only with a destroyed, text-only layout. I tried to register and they asked me to pay. I then clicked "Sign Out", lol.

The BitBlinder e-mail was on my inbox, too. I'll check it tomorrow.
