View Full Version : HTTPs tracker
On waffles there's an option that says "This will set the announce-url to use HTTPs on all torrents you download". What does this do and how will this affect cheating?
Its just a data encryption/decryption (security) protocol for http using secure socket layer (ssl)
It won't affect your cheating :wink2:
I use it at waffles and others.
Well, that's a security precaution & it's normal at Waffles specially you would notice it upon logging in,so that would be cool to be used even during cheating sessions

Like mike said, it makes your announces travel SSL-encrypted to the tracker. It can be useful if your ISP blocks tracker announces, or manipulates them so that your uploaded amount is TB-sized, which will get you banned and save them bandwidth, or you're using a public, unprotected network (open hotspot, etc.) and wouldn't like sniffers to see your passkey.
It doesn't affect cheating.
