this guide can be used with or without the mods. but i recomended to use this anyway to get full advanteg of the client.

This is a guide made by me and the setting i use are collected by many users from other private trackers.

the point from this guide is to give you the best setting to run inside a private tracker. feel free to give your opinion.

@mammamia11: disabling those plugins through Options -> Plugins is better if you're not going to use them.

It seems all your "must have" settings do so far is using the classic UI and disabling LPD and DHT - and the latter can slow down public tracker downloads, as you'll get less sources. Do you plan to add anything else?

yes anon these settings for private trackers only, if you use public trackers then use the default settings, the dht settings are activated by vuze from the start and they are only good in publick trackers, some private trackers ban ppl for using then for example: TL do that if they catch.

and for thoes who dont know what dht is. it makes it posible that you can download a torrent from multiple trackers and thats not welcome in private trackers naturally :)

and the latter can slow down public tracker downloads

It can,but i didn't notice such huge slowdowns on public trackers, well people if you plan to use this settings don't complain about slow speeds on public trackers if you get them, this settings are only for private trackers:wink2:

@mammamia11 & kazuya:

That's multi-tracker support. DHT lets you download a torrent without any trackers at all (although technically each DHT node is a tracker). The reason such trackers don't like it is that if you're using a client that doesn't respect the private flag (like old versions of BitComet and my DHT-Patch uTorrent mod), uploads done to DHT-found peers will be reported to the tracker, which would give you an edge over clients that do respect it (cheating).

Nowadays Azureus, uTorrent and every good BitTorrent client won't enable DHT, PEX or LPD for private torrents, so I don't know why trackers tell you to disable it entirely. The only reasons to do so are saving some bandwidth if you're going to download from private trackers only, or lower the amount of connections if you're behind a router.

the trackers tells to disable it completly because it still report wrong stats randomly to tracker

But that's not true. (I'm not saying you are lying)

Every good client (i.e. the ones they allow in their trackers) disables all means of peer discovery except for the tracker itself for private torrents. There's no need to disable DHT/etc., as the client will automatically ignore it for such torrents. So I don't know why they tell you to do so...

Hmm i think they don't tell him,it's says so under FAQ in almost all private torrent sites:biggrin:

here this is what i says in one top tracker:

What is DHT and Why must i turn it off

DHT must be disabled in your client, DHT can cause your stats to be recorded incorrectly and could be seen as cheating also disable PEX (peer exchange) Anyone using this will be banned for cheating the system. Check your snatchlist regularly to ensure stats are being recorded correctly, allow 30mins for the tracker to update your stats.

You can find those plugins at Tools -> Options -> Plugins anyway.
