One problem when using VPN is... When the VPN's connection shuts down. The traffic is no more encrypted, and your real IP is revelead.

One way to fix (in some extend) this problem, is to use an apps such as vpnetmon.

VPNetMon prevents unsecured connections after your VPN connection went down. It simply closes specified applications when the VPN connection is down (for example SecureIX or Relakks Service).

If soft closing of the applications is not possible it will kill the applications the hard way. So make sure to deselect any additional questions of your applications like "do you really want to quit?" when it's shutting down.

Download VPNetMon 1.1.2010 Beta - A very lightweight utility for monitoring and securing the VPN connection - Softpedia (http://www.softpedia.com/get/Network-Tools/Network-Monitoring/VPNetMon.shtml)

Good post

TunnelRat (http://www.tunnelrat.net/) is a tool similar to this.

ReConnect also does a similar job, although its homepage (ntoolz.com) has been down for several days. So just in case someone wants to check it out, I have attached it :top:
