Microsoft Australia has today announced that the upgraded Xbox 360 Pro console--which comes with a larger 60GB hard drive--will be available for purchase down under from today for A$499.

The new 60GB console replaces the 20GB model, and is being sold at the same price. While this is certainly good news for those looking to buy the mid-range Xbox 360 model, there's no word on hardware revisions for the Xbox 360 Arcade (A$349), which packs a Xbox 360, 256MB memory card and 5 XBLA titles, or the Xbox 360 Elite (A$649) SKUs, which comes with a console, 120GB HDD, headset, and HDMI cable.

good that a far away country like Australia recieved a fixed release date without any delay since MS loves to generate any glitches just to stop its production line
