For the users with an OVH Root which didn't already know.

Good morning,
We receive daily alerts from copyright-compliance.com
The alerts about the presence of files protected by copyright on
some dedicated servers at Ovh and accessible via p2p.

Example:

Title: The Sims
Infringement Source: BitTorrent
Infringement Timestamp: 14 Jul 2008 12:30:28 GMT
Infringement Last Documented: 31 Jul 2008 02:07:16 GMT
Infringer Username:
Infringing Filename: The Sims 2 Kitchen and Bath Interior Design Play now
Infringing Filesize: 444600897
Infringer IP Address: 91,121,172,100
Infringer DNS Name: ks362187.kimsufi.com
Infringing URL: http://torrent-downloads.to:5869/announce

The alert said that the file "the sims 2" is protected by copyright.
The file is hosted on the server and accessible at 91.121.172.100
free download via BitTorrent. The contract is not respected.

Until now, we would warn the customer, then pre-closed the server,
then the process would repeat itself while the contract remains broken or the server is
closed. No customer has changed behaviour on all alerts
between January and July (about 3-6 alerts per day). All servers
were finally closed.

Since 1 week, we switched to another method. Now on the farm
server is closed immediately as soon as the contract is broken. Sums
paid are not reimbursed. There was no discussion possible.
If a problem occurs, the legal option is available to the customer.

The result is the same except that our admins work less and the network
is less attractive for this type of illegal activity. Our network has no
vocation to become the wastebasket of the internet where you can find any
divx, exe or mp3 in a few minutes.

Finally, we continue with this method. In the long term, 1-3 months,
95% of this activity will go elswhere.

Regards,
Octave

I can understand this step because a lot of their server were only used for P2P.
