Santa Clara (CA) - Facebook and Intel have signed an infrastructure solution agreement, under which Intel and Facebook will install "thousands of Intel Xeon processor-based servers over the next year."

According to an announcement made today, Facebook and Intel have signed a collaboration agreement that focuses on technology evaluation, benchmarking and optimization of software for Intel architecture.

LOL this is great,now facebook has thousand of credits to spend on its fame increasing day & after day !! I hope they can make their site loads faster since loads of appz are installed on facebook everyday which make it a horrible experience to surf around it

Of course they had to upgrade, Facebook is very popular and by the looks of it, the load will keep on increasing. Servers that receive and answer millions of HTTP requests a day have to be powerful.

LOL I guess they finally achieved that yeah !! good for them to have Intel run their servers since lots of new appz are added daily which lead to very slow page loading thru users profiles !!
