Firefox Tuning
Rise up the speed of your Firefox Browser:
Open the configuration menu by typing in the following into the field where you normally fill in the URLs:
about:config
In the config menu you have to set up the following changes:
- network.http.pipelining (put “true”)
- network.http.proxy.pipelining (put “true”)
- network.http.pipelining.maxrequests put on 100
- network.http.max-connections 48
- network.http.max-connections-per-server 16
- network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-proxy 8
- network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server 4
You save the changes by clicking the right button of your mouse somewhere on the screen and choose new -> integer from the menu. Now you have to write nglayout.initialpaint.delay into the popup and type in number 0 into the next window.
That´s it, now you are able to surf much faster threw the internet with your Firefox browser!
Will try these settings righaway !! they seem to be way effective !! :top:
i will also give it a try the other problem would be to find a way to reduce the ram usage any suggestion?
to make FF use less ram:
1. go to about:config
2. right click -> new
make a new boolean value called config.trim_on_minimize and set it to true
right click -> new again
make an integer called browser.sessionhistory.max_total_viewers and set it to 0
new value again...
integer named browser.cache.memory.capacity : you should try and see which values are best for your system; don't set it higher than 10000 unless you have more than 1gb of ram
restart firefox and done :smile:
other tips:
* set your disk cache's size to 20 mb
* always make sure you're using your addons' latest versions, which will be most likely more optimized and use less memory
* ietab loads IE's engine = more memory consumption

i have done this before but if works only it my forefox is minimized
all of them? the last 2 integers can reduce ram usage when not minimized too... also try disabling java, some flash anims can load the java engine unnecessarily which will use A LOT more ram and it can't be unloaded unless you restart (trying to remove its dlls from FF's memory space makes it crash silently)
also rethink what addons you really need, maybe there are some you don't really use which could be disabled :smile:

i made now all config changes i hope that it works now better. i have a portable version of firefox i hope that the high ram usage is not because of this

it could be... portables prefer to keep the cache in ram because in a normal usage scenario (running it from a flash drive) that increases the drive's lifespan :smile:
