I might sound stupid but I personally like Windows Media Player.

Why? Because ALL the others have so much unneeded bullshit >.<" Just play songs and that's more than enough imho

I was talking on a personal level. Though I am interested in hearing what feature exactly you can't live without?

I, personally, find it annoying for one if your whole screen is filled the first time you boot the thing (eg winamp, songbird, ...)

Of course, AIMP2 is the best. Winamp is a failure.

If you closed AIMP2, went to sleep and opened it again the next day, it will resume from the same point you were listening. A feature you won't find in any other program.

totally right, but that's why these threads are in a section with no postcount. if there'd be objective and informative posts this could be moved to the computer forum

I would rather exellent sound and if it came with simple interface *shrugs*

Songbird is another interesting player. It has a lot of cool extensions... I guess it's kind of like the firefox of audio players. Unfortunately like WinAmp it seems to seize under the pressure of a lot of files.

I hate Foobar... it's an overcomplicated piece of crap. I use it just because it handles the volume of my music collection quickly and effortlessly.

I use jetAudio. The X-Surround Effect brings your mp3 on a 5.1System to a new level. Sound really great.

Exactly the same, i'm using Rhythmbox on my Ubuntu machine and Winamp on my Windows gaming PC. Just now i've reinstalled my system and i'm too lazy to install/configure winamp, so i'm listening to WMP12 and it's actually ok!

I recently discovered AIMP2.

It's the only real audio player I have seen which does not hog my computer's CPU and memory.

Please consider installing the magical iZotope ozone plugin for win-amp...

Recommended for the next level experience that normal audio players don't allow...

I still want to find a copy of Amarra, which is quite possibly the most ludicrously priced piece of music-playing software at a thousand dolla-oh they "reduced" the price to seven hundred dollars.

But no one ever seems to have a solid crack for it on the PC platform.

Yeah for real ,please tell cause a lot of people have mentinoed about it .Wanna know what's good about it and how? can be better than my old winamp.

Lucius1
11.08.10, 14:31
foobar2000 can play flac. winamp can't ( without a plugin or smth like that)

better design and functionality . for example you can see all the music in your pc in a list sorted by genre, folder structure etc.

simple UI and low memory use.

you can convert between different encodes easily. etc.
( you have to install it and use for a couple of days to see all of the details that make foobar the best audio player)

The codec you're using to decode such material also plays a very important part, also.

In other words, use CoreAVC.

Vuze-Sbi

Is it possible to use core avc with km player ?

anon
22.08.10, 17:54
Didn't try it with KM, but since CoreAVC is a codec, I doubt which player you use matters too much. Just disable the player's internal filters (if any) to let it take precedence.

silencer1980
22.08.10, 18:37
if we are talking about video play

COREAVC + MPC-HT is the best with CUDA ACC. video card.
or USE DXVA with ATi 4000 series or above card.
