Soundtracks when heard on their own don't really give that same feel...I've dowbloaded many game STs only to get bored when listening to them...

However I have really loved Machinarium's st and I really really recommend it for a listen... Amazing stuff by Tomas Dvorak

Also Give a listen to Command and Conquer's Soundtracks...The whole series has great music...

16-bit era! Final Fantasy VI, Secret of Mana, Zelda: a Link to the past and, of course, Super Mario World! (Nintendo addict here eheh). Oh, Final Fantasy VII all the way (amazing!)

Fallout 3/NV, Oblivion and Mass Effect 1/2 all got nice soundtracks.

One of the things I really like about Civ V, is how the music is specific to your chosen Civilization.
