BS is a mac tracker and has everything related. also a nice collection of add-ons for audio apps and iphone stuff e.g.
file wise it's the best mac tracker although they don't allow pre-releases.

BS is the oldest mac site afaik. founded in 2004 they were closed for some time but re-opened in 2008 (fall i think). in the meantime some of their staffers left and founded a new mac site: Vortex.
as mentioned already file wise it's the best mac site. its userlimit is almost always reached and the amount of active users is high as well. the speed is good and many torrents are very well seeded. therefore it's not so easy to seed there. they've even lowered the min. ratio lately.
if you can't find an invite you could give their uniqü invite system a try. instead of irc interviews you can send them a profile link to one of a certain number of sites. with some luck you'll have an invite in your inbox after about 2 weeks.
every user has a number of themes to choose from. also there has been a design contest lately but the winners are not yet in the drop down menu's list.
the community is about average. the index page has the usual happy holidays messages and stuff and every so often there're some games and contests. not to forget the polls of course. i'd say the forum activity is medium.
uploading is free for all but you have to obey the uploading rules of course.
even if you're not using osx the collection of iphone and audio stuff is nice if you're interested in that.



Cheating

let's come to the important part finally :biggrin:

cheating there is not very hard. they don't have many scripts as it seems and they're also not too keen on looking into things too much so you can get away with quite some things.
they have no peerlist but the snatchlist is very detailed. the columns are: type, name, time alive, size, seeders, leechers, client, time spent, announced, left, uploaded, downloaded, ratio.
anyway the leecher count is always low so you can't use too high speeds there unless you hit stop in time. flashing small amounts dös also work but think of the detailed snatchlist.
also almost all torrents are repacked or extracted or modified in some other way so don't go in as seeder even if you have the content in some form.

This is by far the best mac tracker app I have used, and I have most of them... Cheating has never been an issue, nor do they really care.

none of the mac trackers is hard to join. BS has the special system i mentioned in the review and the other 2 have irc interviews.

Cheating, just basic rules... dont go overboard with your fake uploading stats.

Its not a site riddled with seedboxes like many of the scene sites. Without cheating and a 5mb/1mb internet connection I maintained a 2:1 ratio...

More months ago I had registered with the site, loved it, then unfortunately have been deleted and are no longer able to enter.
I also tried to create another email address but there was nothing to do.
Only after some time a friend told me that probably I did not put the files shared, and so on my account has been deactivated. Now I ask you .... it is possible now that I know the rules, to be reactivated? Thanks for your interest.

Try not to upload a lot of torrents on the same day. They will block your access to the invite forum because they think you are doing it to access the invite forum. This happened to a few users that i know.

I always wanted to be a power user to get invites, but I never managed to find anything to upload!!! Some uploaders there are so damn fast and it's hard to find other sources of macos software.

Eventually, I gave up and I ended up downloading software on behalf of 4 persons and god knows how many friends they have themselves.

It is really easy to find content to upload on brokenstones. Just go to torrentleech and browse the educational section. Upload the new releases to brokenstones (1gb+ and up). Do it slowly. If they think you are doing it for access to invite forum they'll block you from it.

Yesterday, I found my account blocked.

I assumed it was because of inactivity (I haven't DL anything in a year but I managed to at least log in every 2 weeks to say hi)

had a chat with an admin. I no longer have the full thread but here's a summary:
ADM: how did you get your invite?
ME: I bought it
ADM: give details
ME: gave all info I had, which was not useful since both email and website are dead now.
ADM: be more specific
ME: In my last message I gave you email, website, amount paid. what else would you like to know?

Then I was banned for good, included from the IRC.

I'm impressed that that they still police their member so many years after.

I like their message, something like: be honest, lying won't get you anywhere. But telling the truth won't get anywhere neither. Worse, you waste time finding the info. Don't bother their interview.

Well, the usual reason given is that it endangers trackers, because if you and I can buy or trade for an invite, then so can the cops. This is not incorrect in principle. But I feel that the fact that I had entry (or had been offered entry) to all "elite" trackers at age 15 sort of negates any chance that the opposite may be true.

Anyway, I view invite selling negatively - making a profit on something that is meant to be given freely and at the expense of all the work and money that goes into keeping a good tracker, is just shameful. Trading is different, I'm okay with it as long as both parties involved have genuine interest on whatever place they want to join, and take care of their accounts. As far as the tracker is concerned, that's exactly the same as inviting a friend that ends up being a good member.

I see some merits in this approach. tracker get the money they need and members gets a proper, official route to join a tracker.

I have a feeling than the police no longer need or want to be a member of the tracker.

It's acceptable depending on how much the invites are offered for and how much emphasis is placed on that particular way to join. But it's also a double-edged sword, because the copyright mafia loves to paint "pirate" sites as moneymaking profit machines, and this gives them an excuse to do just that.
