well it was a gift and i couldn't say No,
its an old phone but i will just use it for music, videos named [CECT T689]
it lacks: wireless, expandable memory [mine is just 256mb], and the most important one for me is a good camera [just got a 1.3MP]...
n80 ftw
the hiPhone looks cool btw .

But disregard what I said about the MP5 Player - it died about an hour later after posting that. Now, if I can get it to turn on, the display will be corrupted, and the thing will freeze if I try to play music or videos. I tried flashing it with the firmware on the CD, but to no avail. After I finish replying to today's posts I'll see if I can find another working FW on the Internet based on the serial number behind the LCD screen, but something tells me the days of listening to music and watching movies are over. :frown:
I think it was the device's built-in function to delete files that screwed it up. chkdsk reported FAT errors every time I scanned it after using that, but I didn't listen... and the player started acting weird (half my music was lost, ÿÿÿÿ's displayed instead of the filenames) right when I deleted an AVI after playing it. Bottom line: delete files via Windows Explorer.

i've just deleted a 100mb MP4 file using the phone's file manager :eek13: ...
well lets see how long it will last..
I'd run a chkdsk on it now.
"Disk Check Complete" so i assume it went okay.
well thanks for your experience with Chinese electronics
Are there any software to convert video files for Nokia 1100 of which i am the proud owner  (just kiddin)
These Chineese made phones are reallly on huge sale these days..but the only problem is that one cannot claim warranty of any sorts ( if i am not mistaken)
well thanks for your experience with Chinese electronics
No problem. I have spent the last two hours looking for an alternative firmware that may repair my player, but got nothing. I'll keep it as it is now - at least it still works to store files.
Edit: ...not.
