I watched the cartoon, it was overall pretty good, witha few weak spots though.

After Dragonball Movie, I might just stay away from this, especially since Hollywood decided to not use asian actors again...

If you're talking about Avatar cartoon, then let me tell you that it's american cartoon and not asian.

I know the cartoon was made by Nickelodeon and is in fact American, but when watching the cartoon, it seemed obvious to me that the characters were asians, especially since many aspects of it were based on asian ones (such as the concept of elements).

It's not from a source but I don't really see that as an opinion; Movies/shows/animes etc like Dragon Ball Z and Avatar: The Last Airbender are closely related to many ancient asian civilisations and should be portrayed as such.

It's just that the way the casting turned out, I find it a tad bit racist. I know they are after the moniez but I don't believe asians were given a fair go from the start.

so we had superhero world saviors, adult world saviors, teenage world saviors and now its time to have a kid world savior, makes perfect sense, right?

from the trailers you get to see some random cgi and mainly a fire vs. other elements battle - now isn't it kinda weird that just the fire warriors are declaring war, and where are the representatives of other elements, as it makes no sense that one has such an upper hand - not to mention a kid, ruler of all elements, ROFLMAO, what a joke, he was born invincible/skilled/...the chosen one...last of its kind...we knew you would come...world in darkness...to restore peace through war, give me a break :rolleyes:

also, why would a master of the elements use a plain old pole weapon or hand-to-hand combat or 1on1 combat, its like having a tank firing old-ladies-pistols if you know what i mean...naturally, don't expect any character development here, it will be just another brainless cgi theater of war (strange how the director chose such a random, superficial type of movie, as he is usually picky about what he directs)

i think mr. shayamalan has a hidden agenda/message going on here, you can catch a glimpse of it in the 3rd trailer: 'there are reasons each of us are born, we have to find those reasons'...gotcha! :tongue:

which most likely won't prevent it from an epic fail, judging from the glimpses of dull/unimaginative dialogue & uninspired acting presented in the trailers

at least avatar had an interesting, colorful world, decent actors & skillful interplay between cgi & actors, whereas this one doesn't seem to offer much in either of these aspects, except maybe cgi...

guess this guy goes into the 'lovers' camp (as opposed to 'haters') trying to dismiss (or explain) the movie's disadvantages - thats about the point where i stopped watching his 'review' as he was neither interesting or convincing, meaning he just lost (another) viewer of his channel :tongue:

bottom line: if you have a good feeling (or an interest for whatever reason) about the movie, download it and decide for yourself - all these reviews are way too much biased and personal/individual (taste related) to be useful to anyone

After having watched the cartoon series I was really disappointed by the in terms of poor acting especially by the lead character who was cast as aang, the avatar. I my view he sucked big time and selecting majority of Indian actors for the movie was also not a very wise move.
