WD's My Book Studio Edition II now comes with a pair of 2TB drives and a choice of four interfaces: USB 2.0, eSATA, FireWire 400 and FW800. Having 4TB plus all those options'll cost you, though: $650 MSRP.

Amazon.com: Western Digital My Book Essential Edition 1 TB USB 2.0 External Hard Drive WDH1U10000N: Electronics

but its more convenience to have all the 4 in 1

Thank you, but Raid 0 is for performance...

I think the USB interface is satured with only one disk... I hope RAID 1 for picture and personnal movies backup...

Raid 0 is only usefull if you use eSata I think, maybe Firefiwre but there is only 400 on PC (you must pay a lot for 800 on a PC)

What I meant is that the capability to use it is there.

Why it's so expensive ?

it has to be since it offers 2*2 TB or 4*1 TB device functionality in one set, not to mention its own casing and so on

external devices are usually used for backup purposes, even though by using higher speed interface like esata they can compete with internal hard drives

btw. all some of your questions could have been put in less posts, you can use the edit button for that

I have the 1 TB extern drive linked in cheatos post. It's of course slimmer than the 4 TB version like you see on the picture. I'm very pleased with how quiet and smooth it runs. When i bought I thought 1 TB would last forever altough now that it's almost full i see the point of getting this monster!

Yeah, I want one so bad. I actually have a 2TB external and I have been downloading constantly and just today I have finally filled it halfway up after three months.
