More and more chrome users started using the not so famous adsweep addon that works great (more proofs on the official site). This is a tutorial that will help you enable this addon in Iron.

AdSweep is a small addon that aims to hide advertising from the web pages you visit like Adblock. In technical terms, AdSweep is a user javascript that defines CSS rules based on the web site you are visiting to hide elements of the page that show advertisements.

AdSweep is designed for standard-compliant web browsers such as Opera, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox 3.1+ or Apple Safari. It works better and faster with Opera and now with Google Chrome.

Visit the site (http://adsweep.org/)

This tutorial is for SRware Iron not Google Chrome. (This browser isn't banned from SB-I <see why here (http://www.srware.net/en/software_srware_iron_chrome_vs_iron.php)>) Download it here (http://www.srware.net/en/software_srware_iron_download.php).

1.First you will need to download the chrome user script wich can be found here.
http://www.adsweep.org/AdSweep.user.js
2.Search your C drive for a "User Data" folder.(if you find more than one chose the one that's inside a "Chromium" folder)

Windows 7 : C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Chromium\User Data
Windows Vista:(I don't know here but you can find it with ease, just look for the Chromium folder)
Windows XP: C:\documents and settings\[username]\local settings\Application Data\Chromium\User Data

3.After you found the "User Data" create a folder named "Default" inside it(optional/may already be there),then inside the Default folder create another folder named "User Scripts" and put "AdSweep.user.js" inside it.

NOTE: for Iron Portable, the folder "User Scripts" must be created into the folder where you installed Ironportable. The Defauld folder target will look something like that [IronProfileDefault] not [ChromiumUser DataDefault]

4.After this just right click your SRW Iron shortcut on your desktop and look for "target", in this box -after- what is written and add " --enable-user-scripts "

example:
"C:\Program Files\SRWare Iron\iron.exe" --enable-user-scripts

5.Go to adsweep's site (http://adsweep.org/) and you should see something like this in the upper right corner.

1. install Iron
2. go to AdSweep - An ad blocker for your favorite web browser (like Adblock) (http://www.adsweep.org)
3. click on AdSweep.crx
4. restart Iron.
