Ihr könnt eure eMule Identifikation ändern. Dadurch verliert ihr alle Credits bei anderen Clienten!
Deshalb ist diese Funktion nur zu empfehlen wenn ihr den Mod eh mit No Share oder No Upload laufen last. Durch das ändern des rsa keys seit ihr besser vor "eMule Network Scans" und auch gegen die ein oder andere "Static Banlist" geschützt.
This allows you to change your eMule identification. As a result you lose all your credits.
Therefore this option is only recommended if you have No Share or No Upload enabled.
By changing your RSA Keys you are better protected against "eMule Network Scans" or the one or the other "Static Banlist".
emulate community nick addons
Euer Client emuliert die Community Erweiterungen im Nickname von anderen Clients, da man so teilweise im download bevorzugt wird.
Your client emulates the community extension of other clients in your nickname , because so you may be prefered for downloading.
don't share partfiles
Es werden nur eure Downloads versteckt. Andere Ordner könnt ihr normal zum Upload anbieten.
Only the files you're downloading will be hidden. You can still offer all your other folder to upload.
upload only to friends
Es gelangen nur Clients in eure Uploadwarteschlange die ihr davor zum Freund gemacht habt.

I have seen "hide files" feature in ZZ-R before,is this "Hidden"the same as that?
And I dont catch its usage too much..what's the benefit?

Thanks, we are having some problems here connecting to servers and it seems to be nation wide and its all the emule clients, modded and unmodded.
The hide emule feature is not for hiding files.
You can completely hide the emule symbol from tray with this function.
Normal you could copy the mod over your old sbi leecher version but a clean install would be better.
All server in this server.met file should work for german users, but it could be that you need other addresses if you come from a other country. Perhaps anon can send you his server file...

I added the servers manually from the screenshot and I can only connect to 211.191.177.215 and 61.130.111.15
I'm sure this is not mod related so I don't know if we should keep this discussion here or move it elsewhere.
Yes i know this crazy problem. Server.met files from users of other countries don't work on my system too. I think the most servers block some countries (ip ranges).
You could activate the both "update serverlist when..." options in the server preferences that you find some working ones. But take care because on that way you get fake servers too...

If you're talking about the "upload rule/queue rule per file" feature, it lets you control which files you can queue or upload in an individual basis, so that you can queue and/or upload some, but not others.

Unfortunately my Internet connection isn't working at home, and my ISP says that's how it'll stay until friday.
But if after adding all of xixifrank's servers to your eMule you can only connect to two of them, either they're blocking your country, or reversed. In this case, I think buying a "torrent proxy" or VPN service would be the only real solution.

Well, if you want to release, first of all don't enable any security settings. :biggrin:
Secondly, you may want to enable fake rank, so that others never see your queue as full. Auto asking for new server and XS sources would be useful to find people to upload to; multi server connection and rotation could also help.
Moving the "upload slots" bar all the way to the left will activate slot focus, which works like this: if your maximum upload speed is 30kB/s and you're uploading to 5 clients, they should get 6kbs each. But with slot focus the first one will get 29kB/s (i.e. almost full speed) and the other ones 0.2kbs, so it can help you upload chunks faster.
But this is a leecher rather than a releaser... you'll get better results with a mod like ZZ-RS.

Hallo, ich habe probleme mit den mod, ich habe clean install gemacht, wenn ich den Esel starte, dann friert praktisch mein Esel ein, er verbindet sich zwar alles ist offen, aber er läd nicht runter, kein upload kein download, habt ihr diese probleme nicht? Also ich habe Vista drauf, und die alte version läuft einwandfrei, aber diese geht gar nicht. Das einzige was geht ist die warteschlange, sie wird voller aber sonnst ist der Esel wie Tot....

Thanks but the issue isn't mod related because it happens with every emule version.
The forum on that site is where I tried to find a solution and they didn't help, there are dozens of people with the same problem and some of the mods are trying to convince everyone that the issue is settings/router related.

Teste das ganze mal mit dem Konfig Ordner der in der rar dabei ist und kopiere keinen anderen Dateien rüber. Ein beta Tester hatte ein ähnliches Problem und konnte es durch den original config Ordner lösen.

Xunlei hammers peers, gives little upload, tries to trick other peers into that it's uploading, and "bypasses" blocks by looking for your downloads' files in HTTP/FTP servers, not to mention it scans your hard disks for all big files and saturates your upload by sharing them through its P2P network regardless of your upload speed limit.
Furthermore, its interface is full of ads and pop-ups, and its default search site redirects you to malware-infested pages.
You can still find a clean version here (http://hehehunter.com/xunlei/xunlei-thunder-mod-version-100/2/), but I doubt it'll help Flip-Mode, since most eMule servers have banned Xunlei.

Hallo zusammen,
ich habe versucht den o.a. leecher auf einer virtuellen Maschine zu starten, dies schlägt jedoch mit der Meldung "This software cannot be started on a virtual machine" fehl...
Warum?! der originale Mule 49c ebenso wie der SBI leecher 1.8 laufen auf selbigem virtuellen System (VMWARE), was hat das zu bedeuten?
Für eine Erklärung bzw. einen Workaround wäre ich dankbar.
Ich Muss eine virtuelle Machine nutzen, da ich keine Software auf dem Host installieren kann (keine Admin Rechte)

That's an anti-unpacking protection. You can't work around it, although maybe Butcho can build an EXE that doesn't check for a VM for you.

I wait until someone find a major bug and then i'll update the exe....

Thx but in Version 1.8 it was a simple change in the settings and it worked.
Now i get: "Failed to download and install selected language library from h**p://langmirror3.emule-project.org/lang/049237/de_DE.dll!
I did check my firewall :).
When updating it from eMule?
I changed it from the original command "ipfilter.zip" into "ipfilter.dat".
If it's "ipfilter.zip" i get this error message: "ipfilter.dat.tmp is a ZIP file with unexpected content."

I don't use emule in years, because of security concerns, but I'll try this version.
Same, I haven't used Emule in about, mmm, 3 years probably. That was before I got into BitTorrent, and P2P was new to me, but I learnt quick. Emule is brilliant for old, rare files, but speeds can be terrible.

With these settings you won't share (and therefore upload) anything - your queue will be empty all the time. Despite this, it's still fast for a no upload mod.
The client software and community nick emulation can't be detected, and will give you a better chance to download from others.
Server rotation will automatically connect to the next server on the list, this can help you gather more sources. You can set the interval at "Time settings" - I'd recommend something between 30 and 60 minutes.
The Time settings come tweaked by default. Don't set the reask times too low or you may be banned. You can use the ones between brackets (i.e. the official reask times) to decrease your overhead.
The multi server connection will increase your source horizon at the cost of extra overhead.
Auto drop will automatically remove sources that don't have any useful chunks or whose queue is full from your source list.
Filename disparity check makes sure what you're downloading is that file and not a fake. (There's also a "check fake" column in the search panel to match results with known fake files) You can adjust its sensitivity in the SBI Control settings.

Danke, ich dachte, es liegt an mein Vista, habe es neu drauf gespielt, und habe immer noch das problem, Esel funzt nicht, wenigstens nicht bi der 32 bit version von Vista...:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
I see some of my tasks have a "?" before the file name,is that the result of "enable filename disparity check" ? I promise I'm downloading the right file,but why does it still show the "?".
and should I select "require 2 bad name"? as well as the sensity
I try typing "ShowCountryFlagInKad=1"in preference.ini, it doesnt seem to work. is my code wrong or the mod doesnt support the code?
Yes filename disparity check put a "?" before your file if names of your files are too differents

I see some of my tasks have a "?" before the file name,is that the result of "enable filename disparity check" ? I promise I'm downloading the right file,but why does it still show the "?".

That's because of having enabled filename disparity check. It means your download also goes under other filenames that could put the file's authenticity in doubt (for example Windows_Vista_Ultimate.iso and pornmovie.avi :tongue:)
The sensitivity slider controls how it will react to different names - a low sensitivity will only show obvious fakes, while a higher one will flag everything.
"Require 2 bad names..." is to reduce false positives - it prevents eMule from showing the "?" unless at least two suspicious filenames are seen.
I try typing "ShowCountryFlagInKad=1"in preference.ini, it doesnt seem to work. is my code wrong or the mod doesnt support the code?

...first of all don't enable any security settings. :biggrin:
Secondly, you may want to enable fake rank, so that others never see your queue as full. Auto asking for new server and XS sources would be useful to find people to upload to; multi server connection and rotation could also help.
Moving the "upload slots" bar all the way to the left will activate slot focus, which works like this: if your maximum upload speed is 30kB/s and you're uploading to 5 clients, they should get 6kbs each. But with slot focus the first one will get 29kB/s (i.e. almost full speed) and the other ones 0.2kbs, so it can help you upload chunks faster.

Remember that if you don't want to leech but upload a lot, you may get better results with mods like ZZ-RS, Xtreme or MorphXT. :smile:

I wanted to take the time to thank the author of this eMule mod. This mod not only works beautifully as I have achieved over 500 KB/sec download speeds (yeah, no lie...) with this mod, but as I was coming from an old leecher mod based on 0.48a this mod has features in it that I never dreamed possible and most importantly, each of those features work as described.
This brings me to my second thanks. Thank you so much for taking the time in the original post to thoroughly explain all of your mod's features in terms that are easy enough for everyone to understand. Too many mod authors just throw their mods out to the world with no explanation as to what features do and the world has to experiment and figure things out on their own. Kudos to you as you not only took the time to explain every option in great detail, but you took the time to explain them in not one, but two different languages!
You, sir, are not only a great asset not only to this forum, but to the eMule community as a whole. I truly wish you the best in everything you do in life and thank you for sharing your hard work with the rest of us.

I also get the Virtual Machine Error also i am running it on Windows Server 2008 64bit with installed Hyper-V. I am not running it on any of the Virtuals, but on the real one (ok, i tryed so, cause it doesnt start)... dont no were the errors hast to be searched?

Hi, I also have that issue: When I fire the mule up, it works find and connects etc. but after about half an hour, it "freezes" as you say. No more uploading, no more downloading, nothing happening!
I did a clean eMule install and I'm using Windows XP (native, non-VM) 32bit, so I don't think it has to do with OSs.
Any help on this issue would be highly appreciated!

I tried getting rid of the issue by replacing my /config directory with the original one from the rar file but that didn't fix the problem. I then tried the settings posted by anon in this thread, no luck with those either.
Currently, these are my settings:

Then finally, after a while, downloads and uploads drop tp 0 and nothing happens anymore. I once even noticed that a download was stating "xx kb/s" in the transfer view for about a day while statistics said nothing was being transfered during that time...

I´m sorry, now i tried the unprotected Version on Windows Server 2008 x64, but i dont get it running... "This file has been corrupted, maybe a virus" ? What protection does now run, after the vm-protection? There definitly is no virus on the server and no virtual machine active....

I already tried the "no upload" checkbox with no luck: same behavior.
The port number issue you're pointing out seems a bit unrealistic to me. I tried several eMule Mods, always with these ports and never had that problem. Also, UDP and TCP port ranges are disjunct anyway, so unless it's an artificial limitation within eMule, it doesn't make any sense. Furthermore, I don't seem to be the only one experiencing the issue, so we'd need feedback from others regarding their connection settings.
I've let the eMule run all night and when I came back this morning, I found the following situation:

You'll notice the download/upload indication issues (+check on my previous screenshots, connection overhead display is off). Furthermore, the speeds don't move at all now, not even a slight bit so the whole thing is "frozen".

thought i would update to this version,then things went wrong.i only use kad connections.my kad stopped trying to connect suddenly,i untick slot focus now all things ok again.hope this helps some of you

there is no need for an unpacked version.
If you have problems with the anti-VM detection, download the "VM support" build.
If your antivirus detects the mod (false positive), add an exception for it.

about the time settings for the rsa key change:
now you can select values between 15 and 720 minutes.
i would prefer a time range between 1 and 60 days.
i agree it may be unwise to use the same rsa key for several months, but changing it more than once a day seems rather paranoid and harmful to the filesharing experience.
I'll update the field in the next version that you could insert larger values.
In my opinion it's usefull to change the rsa key more than once a day if you use no share all files the hole time and never get any credits. Because some clients use the rsa key for their static banlist...

well to tell the truth...I have renamed the old "config" directory and replaced with the new one, then the same thing with the .exe file..but the things gone worst...emule didn't find ANY SOURCE...all my downloads seems "freezed" in this status...So I decided to go back at the previous version...well..in this case a strange thing has happened...before the "double change version" I was very fast...but VERY....now I am soooooo slooooooow (whit the same files....)..any advice to help me...?

I have had the exact same issue. Solved it by deleting my config folder and replacing it with the RAR's. :confused:

Maybe someone knows why I can't see my folder "My Documents" under my drive D in emule (options-->directories)?

System folders are also not shown. You can work around this by doing the following:
Go to Start -> Run... -> type cmd and press ENTER,
In the cmd window, type the following commands (a new line means you should press ENTER):
D:
attrib "My Documents" +a -s -h -r
exit
If the folder has a different name (i.e. is in your operating system's language), change it accordingly.
Then check again.

Ich habe nach Langer Zeit mal versucht meinen FLux durch den SBI 1.9 zu ersetzen. Dabei rausgekommen ist das der SBI nach ca. 2 Stunden keinen Upload mehr anzeigt (also keine Dateien die Upgeloadet werden) Im Statusbalken wird er allerdings noch angezeigt. Weiterhin ist mir aufgefallen das auch kein Download da ist obwohl die einzelnen Dateien einen Download von 3-4KB anzeigen und irgendwie tut sich nichts. Alle anderen Funktionen sind weiterhin anwählbar und auch veränderbar.
Als features vermisse ich:
Downloads FETT
NNS,FQ,... alles über eine Click entfernen
Max gleichzeitige Uploads

Wenn alles nicht hilft kannst du bis zum nächsten release die Version 1.8 verwenden, die ist bei allen ohne Probleme gelaufen.

Es gibt doch die Funktion das die Downloads grün eingefärbt werden oder muss es unbedíngt in dick sein. Denn Button könnte ich eigentlich noch ergänzen obwohl man es ja durch die auto drop Funktionen auch handhaben könnte.

The Time settings come tweaked by default. Don't set the reask times too low or you may be banned. You can use the ones between brackets (i.e. the official reask times) to decrease your overhead.
The multi server connection will increase your source horizon at the cost of extra overhead.
Auto drop will automatically remove sources that don't have any useful chunks or whose queue is full from your source list.

Kad is everyone connected to it. You'll report it/them that you have files x, y, z, etc., but once again they won't be able to download them.

"Disable XS send" is to avoid sharing your sources with other clients.

Just a question: What is the good emule mod for a newbie like me? I'm using this one and chimera 1.1a at the moment but I don't even know if i should leave the default config or change something...

Yes i know this crazy problem. Server.met files from users of other countries don't work on my system too. I think the most servers block some countries (ip ranges).
You could activate the both "update serverlist when..." options in the server preferences that you find some working ones. But take care because on that way you get fake servers too...

With these settings you won't share (and therefore upload) anything - your queue will be empty all the time. Despite this, it's still fast for a no upload mod.
The client software and community nick emulation can't be detected, and will give you a better chance to download from others.
Server rotation will automatically connect to the next server on the list, this can help you gather more sources. You can set the interval at "Time settings" - I'd recommend something between 30 and 60 minutes.
The Time settings come tweaked by default. Don't set the reask times too low or you may be banned. You can use the ones between brackets (i.e. the official reask times) to decrease your overhead.
The multi server connection will increase your source horizon at the cost of extra overhead.
Auto drop will automatically remove sources that don't have any useful chunks or whose queue is full from your source list.
Filename disparity check makes sure what you're downloading is that file and not a fake. (There's also a "check fake" column in the search panel to match results with known fake files) You can adjust its sensitivity in the SBI Control settings.

So you have to run the emule.exe, and after everything is set up you have to overwrite the folder "config" with the one in the rar, or just add the files in the old folder, sorry but Vista folders make me go in confusion, I'd go back to XP lol

Or even better, extract the whole archive to a different folder, run eMule, and then reconfigure it. Takes some time, but it's the best for a smooth run.
And so it is - you'll notice "no upload" is unticked if you try to enable both it and "no share all files" at the same time. :biggrin:

But so, the thing I precisely don't understand is what sort of security is added in ticking e.g. "don't publish filelist in KAD" when "no share" is already ticked: As ticking "no share" implies that all files will be hidden, how could these file be published in Kad ? It seems voodoo for me... And if Temp and Incoming files were published, what would mean the sentence "all files are hidden" ?

An other remark I have is that your new mod don't work at all on my PC. I have "clean installed" sbi v1.9 many times, but after some minutes I always have the "freeze problem" some other member have spoken about. When my emule freezes, there is no more connected client in the upload window, but the bar at the below is showing some unexisting upload (eg 50 kB/s).
In my download window, some client could appear, but with a DL rate zero. And as for UL, a non zero download rate appears at the below of emule's window.

SBI 1.8 is a very good mod. Until now, it's even the mod I prefer (but I'm testing Chimera 1.1a, and it's very sexy, too). It's a pity that SBI 1.9 don't work on some PC (built on 0.49c + some funny features such as hide mule and multi server connection).
I have a suggestion to Butcho (or others coders for other mods): In Option->Files/Miscalleneous there is an option "try to transfert full chunck to all uploads".
In a legal point of view, anti p2p people seems to have to download at least a full chunk in order to have solid evidence against an uploader.
So, why not implement a feature such that "don't ever upload a complete chunk to any client" or "upload complete chunk only to friends" ?

Yes, I think so. But in my opinion, it could be an intermediate setting between "full upload" and "no upload". I have suggested it specially to you because your mods allow a very fine tuning of share-levels. A client would obtain more credits when uploading only partial chunks, than when uploading nothing, and would be more secure when uploading only partial chunks, than when trying to upload full chunks, isn't ?

Request Number 1: As you only can assign a Download Priority to a file that has downloaded some (you can not assign a Download Priority to a not yet downloading file), I will like to suggest a form to mark a particular file with a No Upload priority even if the file has not downloaded anything yet. That way when it reaches the uploadable status it is already marked as Not Uploadable.
If this is definable for a category (most usable this way), as a property on any category you can define, all the files you place inside this category will be marked as non uploadable ahead of time and you will not have to watch them to reach the uploadable status.
This will enable us to share just the partfiles in our temp folder that we deem safe to share.
Request Number 2: How about instead of sending your nick while emulating community nick addons, have a selectable option where the default nick of the community is sent instead of your own nick.
IE. My nick is h**p://emule-project.net, but some mods do not allow the use of this nick (** used in place of tt in order for the forum software not ot edit it) . If a community nick is sent with this nick it will be easily detected as a fake.

As you answered I went and looked for the feature and finally found it. My error :frown:
But It will be more useful if added to the category edit dialog. There you have a download priority selector, but not a choice for upload priority. If there was one i would not have to set certain downloads one by one. I would just add the downloads to a certain category I have set to be invisible to upload.

Yes, if you're not sharing neither your incoming folder nor your downloads and for some reason your special directory isn't being shared, no one can enter your queue because you have nothing to offer.

So I deselected don't share your incoming folder and I selected don't share your downloads. Temp folder quited from being shared (which I want) but the incoming folder is not being downloaded. It should have been because peers can find then by Source Exchange.
I don't have a clue of what is happening.

No. I mean that while I have never quited downloading, it seems that other peers can't see what I have finished downloading (which for the majority of files I want to it happen). My finished files are now in the original incoming files directory. I am just removing the files I don't want to share as soon as they have finished downloaded. Of course, I don't want to share my partfiles and that is working.
But the files that finish downloading are not being shared.
Help will be very appreciated.

Maybe no one needs them at the moment. Just leave eMule running and you'll eventually get to upload. Having a high ID also helps.

Only the files on "Shared Files" will be shared. Neither the server nor Kad will show you as a file source, but others can still find you through Source Exchange. You will upload less and therefore get less credits.

Don't send complete file status has nothing to do with other peers in the first moment. Your client send the complete file status only to the server and if you reach the 100%. Peers can see you with your real progress and can also find you via source exchange also if you have disabled all publish things...

PS. I am now uploading what I want to upload. I have published to both servers and to KAD, but I have kept "don't share your downloads" and "don't send complete file status" selected. All other options in SBI Security are not selected. I am seen an improvement in downloads already. :smile:

When I tick "don't share Incoming" + "don't share downloads" + don't send complete file status", there is many people in my queue and the uploads from my Shared directory work well. But when I tick "don't send to server" too, there is only one client per day in my queue, even if I keep "dont send to Kad" unticked, and keep source exchange allowed. This is all the more surprising that over the long term, my emule (v1.8 exactly, because v1.9 don't work on my PC) find the most of its sources through SX and Kad. As I have stated earlier, I have "don't share your downloads", but I later set "don't send filelist to server". Under this conditions I only get one peer downloading in 24 hours (using 1.9).
If I keep set "don't share your downloads" but I do not select "don't publish filelist to KAD" and "don't send filelist to server", I get to share like I want but there is a condition that presents:
I seldom never be able to keep The Mod working correctly for more than 5 minutes.
Most of the time it works for a couple of minutes. After that, it starts loosing peers I am uploading to and the dialog where I am presented the downloads I am doing, starts to freeze each individual downloading entry and the numbers presented to each download are set static.
I will be downloading and uploading, as I can notice the activity in the router, but the activity is not reflected in The Mod. The Server and Kad dialog's entries get static as well.
Dialog to dialog switch activity can be performed, as if The Mod is not "frozen". You can also call any of The Mod dialogs, including Options. Only the upload and download activity is not dynamic, the information presented in the Server and Kad dialogs is frozen as well.
If I set "don't share your downloads", "don't share your incoming folder", "don't send filelist to server" and "dont publish filelist to KAD", I can download and it will work like before I started working on a "selective upload" (what you have been reading in the prior posts).
Setting "auto drop not needed sources", "auto drop sources with full queue", "auto drop to many connections" and "auto ask for new srv and xs sources", or not selecting them has no effect in the appearance of this situation.
I need your help. :(

Please, remember that I wrote that only the information inside the dialogs ( windows) of The Mod is static (not changing). The mod itself does not "freeze". It will allow changes to settings, etc.

I've always enabled don't share all files and had never problems. I will check it with your settings...

I did not have any situations while I had "don't share all files" enabled, either.
I may add that I do not have any error messages in the Event Logs of the OS I use. The OS is fully updated and all .Net Framework releases as well.
Network utilization, as I use some powerful NICs, is always under 0.1.
My router does not have any error messages in the log.
It really seems like is in The Mod code.

No other mod has the many features this mod has. Specially in the security area.
This mod deserves to be diagnosed and fixed.

I'll hope i can fix it this weekend.

Be a good member, post often (no spamming!), and get noticed. Eventually you will get member status.

I seem to have the same problem although I'm registered to the forum but I can't seem to download v2 while I never had any such problem with v.1.9 so there must be something I'm doing wrong??? :confused:

did we say that we will never release 2.0 for everybody? i cant remember.
at the moment our member title users can try and test it as first after that at some point it will be avaible for everybody. till there you can use 1.9 there is nothing wrong with 1.9 why should it be not more used anymore?

It would be sufficient but not necessary :smile: It fact, an uploadkick for each peer after some mb upload would be too severe in my opinion, as it were a global condition for each peer. I thought rather to a limitation per peer and per file. So, each given peer could receive eg 3/4 chunk of any file., but no more (and in fact strictly less) than 1 chunk per file.

Depends on how much of the file they must get before flagging you. And in a worst-case scenario, having uploaded less than a chunk will do.
hello, big problem (since today)... my mule is not downloading anymore. it cant find any sources but it was fine yesterday. all ports are open and i have a high id.
the status bars of the downloads are all red (except the black finished parts of the downloads). status of the downloads are "waiting"
im pretty sure it is a config problem and not a connection problem
edit: i tried another emule mod with my same temp folder and it works oO whats the problem?
I'd recommend you do a clean install and update to v2.01 first.
