Well, I got here searching on google for a way to spoof the number of seeders / leechers for a torrent. I dont know any german at all but thanks to google translate, i must say I'm impressed by the amount of knowledge in here! you guys are the real geeks

nyways...i found a lot of amazing info and tools on spoofing upload and dl stats but I'm still not sure about actually spoofing the number of seeders/leechers from the eyes of a tracker. Any pointers as to where I should be looking?

You can't change the amount of seeders and leechers the tracker knows about, because they're stored server-side.

guess i wasnt clear in my earlier post but im looking for methods to spoof the number of seeds/leeches for a torrent created and seeded by me and on public trackers. I know this is possible since I've seen torrents with fake stats in the past but have been unsuccessful in hunting down any information on it. Can you help me with this?

That's because it was MediaDefender (or any other anti-P2P group) using their BTSeedInflator (source code is in the MD leak) to "increase" the amount of "seeders" in the swarm sky-high. (Seeing this, people jumped on the torrent and increased the amount of leechers as well.)

MD could achieve this because they had their (by then) private tool, and 9Gbit connections. In theory you could do it, but you'd saturate your bandwidth in the process.

It's also possible that the torrents you saw were hosted at fake trackers, where it takes anti-P2Pers just a database edit to report thousands of seeders.

Hi Leute

Habs nun auch nach ein paar kleineren Problemen geschafft mich hier zu reggen und ihr dürft mich nun als Mitglied eurer Gemeinschaft sehen.
Kenn das Forum ansich ja erst seit kurzem und muss sagen bin einfach begeistert davon. Viel besser als der Gulli Filesharing Bereich auf dem ich bis jetzt zu Gange war. Naja will nicht zuviel schreiben. Wer noch fragen hat, kann die gerne stelle, auch per PN, wenns denn sein muss.
