The differences between different RAM-Brands are nearly negligibly if the Specs are identical.
"I like waffles."
"Pardon, you like what?"
Well, that's great, because these cost 1/3rd less than Kingston sticks of equal specifications.

Never heard about this brand. Not even sure they're sold here! I'll only give you one advice, cheap isn't always better! :)
might be a hint that this is not a serious companyOriginally Posted by anon
this doesn't seem right, could it be that the brand name alone is the sole cause of this price difference? did you check other (web)shops too?Originally Posted by anon
then you have just answered your own question: (try to) stay away from noname products, especially if the product is something delicate/sensitiveOriginally Posted by anon
now would be a good time for someone to post a link to a RAM review site with forums discussing/testing/recommending various brands
Yes, on different shops there's a similar price difference when compared to well-known brands. Also, just did a second search with different terms, and found some tidbits of information:
"Regarding brands assembled within the country there's Markvision and Saikano... They're assembled [in Argentina], chips are manufactured by Samsung, Elpida, and I don't remember which others. "
"...with regards to RAM brands, I've used Supertalent, Kingston, GSkill, OCZ, Adata, Markvision... truth is I never had problems with any."
"Markvision and Simpletech are considered generic among memory, but they're still brands."
"Markvision I can't recommend if you want to make a lasting purchase."
"WARNING!!! Worse than Kingston are generic brands like Markvision or Novatech among others, never buy these brands."*
"...if you have a middle-tier PC... tending towards low... without good cooling, a generic power supply, crappy memories like Markvision and co..."
* = nonetheless, I have good experience with Novatech products.
If I weren't saving money right now, I wouldn't doubt to buy Kingston (like I did last year). The seller offers a three-month warranty, by the way.

Faulty RAMs can be a problem of every brand.
I had never problems with modules from Kingston and they are not producing chips by them self.
Self made are Crucial (a brand of Micron) and Samsung (what are they not producing?).
Electronic components mostly have a bathtub curve, so if it works the first month, you won't get any trouble during the next 4-5 years.
So you can buy the cheaper modules if you want to save money - But personally, I would go for Kingston.
After inserting the RAM, you should check the memory using memtest (especially: Moving inversions, 32 bit pattern).

ram is so cheap these days it hardly matters what you buy unless the budget is extremely tight but then you have no choice anyway

The way my country's economy is going right now, even a would-be small difference can be significant. 1 US dollar is 9.30 pesos, the euro goes higher at 12.37. And don't get me started on inflation, which is at around 25%, but the government insists that's 20% too many.
Anyway, I said "to hell with it" and decided to buy the cheaper brand yesterday. The place was a makeshift office in a residential building. They gave me the RAM stick inside a bubble wrap bag, an invoice and that's it. This no-frills approach may have contributed to the low price.
I left memtest86+ running for around 16 hours and it didn't detect any errors. Guess I'll sit back and enjoy the additional memory.

Interesting!!! I can't seem to find their rams here in my country!
I thought they died or something!
I hadn't even heard about them until now.
