    Mouse Discussions

I have bought a Mionix 3200 mouse in 2014, and now it has the following issues:
    • single click now performs double click and sometimes even tripple click
    • scroll wheel turns the page and then goes back to the original scroll point

I looking to buy a new mouse now, palm-grip, big (as I have big hands) and durable. What would you recommend me?

    Thank you!

Doesn't all depend on price range?

The prince range should be within 100$ but no more.

Try to get a gamer (gaming) mouse, from logitech or razer maybe. These tend to be decently durable.

I was actually thinking about the Logitech Prodigy G403. Seems pretty good.

my razor mouse left click got screwed in a similar manner.
left click dragging gave me a lot of problems. the dragged click would release mid-clicking and cause all kinds of problems.
it seems they are making these POS electronics these days with planned obsolescence in mind.

I wasn't about to give up. bought 10x mouse switches from ebay for like 2$ or so.
soldered it instead of the old one and the button is like new.
middle button is harder to find, but I bet you can.

I recommend buying a solder! can be handy in a lot of scenarios.

That's good but are all switches universal? I mean, don't you need a specific switch for a given mouse? I'm assuming the cheap switches last less than the original ones, right?
I already have a solder gun so that's no problem.

Also, here is my scroll issue, from 0:00 and 0:15. The scroll just jumps backwards. I have cleaned the scroll wheel but it still does this.

I don't think the switches will last less, but only time will tell..
like I said they're 10 for 2$ so even if I had to replace one every 8 months-1 year, it's still pays off.

the switch in my mouse was most certainly universal. you can open your mouse and see for yourself!

about the wheel - I don't know, didn't try replacing, but trying it could solve your problem and save you some 50-2$ so I'd try that first.. especially if you have the solder skills

Personally, I've had it with gaming/super-duper/flashy mice. I've had an Intellipoint Explorer, a fuchsia Razer (can't remember which model but it had selectable DPI and a big button in the center), a Habu and a Logitech MX1000. They all ended up breaking or malfunctioning, and I'm not a gamer or anything, it was just several hours of normal usage every day.

Right now I'm using a generic one on my laptop, and a Genius Xscroll on the desktop. The former is pretty much totaled appearance-wise, but cost $4 and still works five years later.

So you're saying gaming mice which are more expensive break more often than office mice?

Well, imagine how many times gamers click rather the ones in "office"

Had no idea the "Genius" brand still existed. I've had many mechanical mice from them back in the day.

I use logitech g102. It's small and has a very good sensor. I really like playing cs go with it. I use steelseries qck+ mousepad with this mouse.
