    Waffles.fm database on sale

seems like the database wasn't actually 'compromised'.to say compromised would be an understatement, the whole database got jacked and its already on SALE in places like (link removed, check the forum post) ...so hell yeah its nothing serious, sarcastic indeed..its now definite that some people have been screwed and screwed really bad...u don't want people like some of those in that forum with your personal info, trust me or at worse for the thing to land on the hands of the M&R or some govt. highest bidder,if whoever did it did it just for the fun of it then that becomes a compromise but doing it so as to sell it is something worth to be concerned about..this is already a disaster happening...am also hearing that the database has been around for a while now,so this didn't just happen and in my own opinion the security alert at waffles would have been a little more strong worded, than what it was..

Seems it isn't over yet; you can buy the database from January for the modic price of "$100 via Paypal or $70 via LR"...

Hopefully, members at Waffles.FM would have taken heed and changed their passwords and passkeys, if not, they could be in for a treat.

I think some/most of the passwords were salted, so they should be safe unless someone has enough computing power to bruteforce them.

the hackers take all informatins and account and sell it
Sadly, that's a possibility. I hope IPs didn't get leaked...

They initially refused to give more details, and after that informed a backstabbing administrator was to blame, but as far as I know didn't mention anything about their database being leaked and for sale.

I don't intend to sound mean or anything so don't get my intentions wrong, but I would'nt be surprised to see it on sale on ebay or someplace like that.

I've seen STMusic and other tracker invites for sale there as an example. LOL.

That wouldn't be surprising at all - like you said, you can even find invites at eBay; FSF has also made an article about a site where you can buy ScT, FTN, and even U*-* invites and accounts.

I sure am glad I changed my stuff before it was too late. They claim IP addresses in the database aren't tied to anything incriminating, but who knows if they are just trying to keep us calm. I like Waffles and would hate to see it go the way of the Oink.

But how sure you can be that it all isn't just fake,i mean real hackers could be admins from the tracker you know and it wouldn't surprise me at all today

    You're right with that.

Maybe it's because I don't want them to be taken down too, but I doubt so it'll be - although it isn't a high-level tracker as Waffles, TB's database and tracker source once got leaked too, and it's still there.
