My praise for "O Clone" was legitimate! I really liked all the concurrent storylines the characters went through, and how they all fit together in the end, even though many of them didn't even live in the same continent. I remember one dealt with crime and drug abuse, and was done realistically, as opposed to being a drama generator or "bad" event that just happens off-screen. Islam and Islamic culture were also portrayed on an accurate and respectful manner, instead of something exotic that can be used as a wild card to justify changes in the plot.
But yeah, the other stuff that got exported here is par for the genre at best. As are local productions
