Yeah that kinda sucked big time for me as well. But on the other hand, new areas etc does make up for it. I just hope it's worth it. Like, not a 5 minute area but an actual 10-15 hour extra per game. Then I don't mind at all.

Here's something to watch while we wait for the remake I didn't know many of them!

one of the final fantasy xv streams at e3 shows that ATB has been fully implemented, and will no doubt be used in ff7 remake also - this makes me a very happy man :)
I find it highly unlikely that they will. A lot of the actual FF fans aren't very pleased with this change. It mostly appeals to outsiders that weren't into the franchise all that much. That being said it still looks pretty awesome, but I'm torn between this and the old way of doing it.
I don't mind they're going this way with FFXV at all, but I'd hate to see them do it in the FFVII remake :(
My first FF game was FF12 on PS2, and there's a turn mode. I loved it. I honestly don't like this fast pacing fighting. I'm glad they have pause mode.
Eek, real time combat I don't think this suits the game, but then again, see post #6.

It's here! It's happening! There's a release date! Still dislike the real-time combat, though... also, what's up with Aeris and those black spirit things.
Anyway, here's another video to watch while we wait. Nothing is said about the remake, just curiosities about the development process of the original game.

I hope it comes to PC as well at some point!
There had been rumors that it would not only be in parts, but would span two consoles, with the ending only being available on the PS5. I don't know that it's true (and hope that it isn't), but that sounds like some of the sketchy-ass nonsense that game developers pull these days. Before long, I suspect we'll hear that there is a full metric shitload of DLC planned, all of which will be insanely overpriced and, quite likely, required to beat the game. Because, again, that sounds like more of the sketchy-ass nonsense previously mentioned.
Unfortunately, that's the direction the gaming industry has taken nowadays, and with the massive hype built around this remake over the years, there was little chance it would be any different. I think the PS5 ending is likely to be just a rumor, though. It would mean everyone else was sold crippleware, and the backlash would be too big, not worth the bucks from making an exclusive deal with Sony. I think...
Don't worry, you'll be able to buy the "Unlock All DLC Without Beating the Game" DLC for just $19.95!
