How to Repair Corrupted Windows 10 System Files?
Simple.
Mount your windows 10 iso in daemon tools (or other program).
Open a cmd as administrator and type:
Dism /image:C: /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /source:wim:E:\sources\install.wim
Where E:\ is your CD/DVD letter.
Is that better than sfc /scannow?

Yes, because it takes the files from the original iso rather than a (possible) corrupted windows winsxs folder.

The equivalent for this on windows 7 is to boot the iso and select upgrade, that will overwrite all corrupted files.
I'm downloading a new iso using media creation tool. I will try this after it finishes download. Btw is there any good software for checking the health of hard drives?. I have seagate expansion hard drive(1tb). I'd like to scan it for errors.

Yes. It's fine.
In the future, you'll only need to worry about Reallocated Sector Count and Reallocated Evenet Count. If either of these have a value greater than 0, then it would be wise to move your important data out of that HDD.
Thanks for the answer. I have one more question. How do i verify of downloaded files? Which software do you recommend?
For now, I'm using:
HashCheck for single files
RapidCRC for many files
Did you check that the WIM path is correct? What about replacing /image:C: with /online?
