Sorry it didn't work out anon but here's a tip from me: be very careful when dealing with the pubic. I once had a business of reinstalling operating systems and configuring them for clients. Some people have very high expectation even when it their own fault. The remember only this "you were the last person to touch this computer so it must be your fault if it is not working as before". If you are not getting piles of cash from a public service/business, it is not worth it.
Don't worry, I always use a safety razor.
That is something to think about, indeed. What about making them sign some sort of contract where you promise to provide a best-effort service, but waive responsibility for unintended consequences? It wouldn't stop cases like that, but it would give you legal recourse if things get serious.
You can't expect to make big money from day zero, everything has to start small. Problems like yours are unavoidable at some point, there will always be obnoxious customers.If you are not getting piles of cash from a public service/business, it is not worth it.
