Perhaps it's a reverse proxy? TPB also runs one (official, not the countless ones that sprung up to unblock access) hosted in Germany to conceal the real servers' location.

According to article, they are hosting in Sweden now. Hopefully they will have better luck there then what TPB had. But I'm not sure can demonoid ever return its old glory days, it all depends how well it will be recieved by general public...
