    End of Watch

    Release Date: September 28, 2012
    Studio: Open Road Films
    Director: David Ayer
    Screenwriter: David Ayer
Starring: Jake Gyllenhaal, Michael Pena, Anna Kendrick, Frank Gillo, America Ferrera
    Genre: Crime, Drama
    MPAA Rating: Not Available
A powerful story of family, friendship, love, honor and courage, "End of Watch" stars Gyllenhaal and Peña as young Los Angeles police officers Taylor and Zavala as they patrol the city’s meanest streets of south central Los Angeles.

Giving the story a gripping, first-person immediacy, the action unfolds entirely through footage from the handheld HD cameras of the police officers, gang members, surveillance cameras, and citizens caught in the line of fire to create a riveting portrait of the city's most dangerous corners, the cops who risk their lives there every day, and the price they and their families are forced to pay.

Ohh , I watched this movie and is awesome,

In my opinion they kind of reinvent the cops genre,

more real and more police point of view

    Good movie!!

the cops who risk their lives there every day, and the price they and their families are forced to pay.
if they did their job properly (the criticism goes primarily towards their superiors & police/government politics that steer/sanction their actions/behavior/goals) they wouldn't have to risk nearly as much as they do nowadays, but since there is no honest large-scale intention/action/effort against the worst kind of criminal underground (also the most organized ones), thats what they get, not to mention their families or average citizens that should get better service (remember: serve & protect) as opposed to harassment/humiliation/patronizing/queuing/..., especially if these citizens belong to a mid/lower class that commonly gets the worst kind of treatment

and what do you see in this movie? glamorizing/exaggeration of violence, police force full of foul-mouthed cowboys (that treat their job as if it was some kind of a joke), their wives putting up with whatever comes their way ('atta girl' style), crazy stuff happening all around (as if thats the norm, as if thats a daily routine), all spiced-up with a nice dosage of propaganda suitable for recruiting new meat for the grinder
