It's a good addon in the sense you don't have to go all the way to about:config if a particular site breaks due to lack of referrers. Same with UAControl.
"I just remembered something that happened a long time ago."
NeverCrash - A free add-on to reduce your memory and CPU use in Firefox by 80%!
That addon looks great for me, the one who opens tons of tabs and then says "I'll read it later".
Anyone tried it already, or wants to do it? I'm attaching the XPI so that you don't have to go through the installer (setup for a 20KB addon, what's that).
"I just remembered something that happened a long time ago."
Read It Later - good addon also.
Save pages to read later with just one click. When you have time, access your reading list from any computer or phone, even without an internet connection!
Adblock eats too much memory, so I replaced it by SimpleBlock, which does the same, eats much less resources, and is just 6KB(!).
Replaced by a custom hacked version of Cookie Monster.CS Lite Mod
Makes cookie management, whitelisting and filtering easier.
Replaced by the SaveTube script for Scriptish (see below).Easy YouTube Downloader
Adds a "Download" button below YouTube videos that does exactly what it says. Supports all formats.
Removed this, since MyGoogleMonkeyR does the job well.Google Privacy
Removes Google's (and other engines') redirector links that plague so many sites.
Replaced by nextpage, which uses less resources.Space Next
Goes to the next page of a site when you're at the bottom of the page and press the spacebar.
Removed this, wasn't using it.Tabloc
Locks tabs to prevent them from being closed accidentally.
It can be more than 99 if you change the value of browser.sessionstore.max_tabs_undo.Undo Closed Tabs Button
This is just like Opera's trash can, lets you reopen up to 99 tabs you've closed.
New additions:
ClearFileUploadFields
Adds an option on the context menu to delete the contents of any text field.
Cookies Manager+
Much better than Firefox's built-in cookie manager. I use a hacked version to fix a few annoyances in my display.
Findbar Tweak
Lets you modify the way the find bar works. Being able to put it at the top of the screen and close it with a keyboard shortcut are welcome additions.
Groove Shredder
To download music from Grooveshark!
HTTP Logout
Clears any HTTP authentication data.
HTTPS Everywhere
Makes sure I always use a secure connection on the sites I choose.
JonDoFox
I posted about this one in the anonymity thread
Morning Coffee
Opens a stack of tabs at the same time. You can do this via the bookmark manager, but this adds a toolbar button.
Organize Status Bar
Lets you sort and hide icons from the addon bar, even if whatever put them there doesn't allow it. Used on conjunction with:
UI Fixer
Lets you relocate Firefox toolbars, e.g. to put addon bar icons in the address bar.
Scriptish
A cleaner, faster fork of Greasemonkey with the same functionality.
selectivecookiedelete
Delete any undesired cookies (based on a black or white list) with one click!
Skip Cert Error
Automatically adds a temporal exception for self-signed certificates and such.
Status-4-Evar
Lets you customize the way Firefox displays loading progression and status bar messages.
Suspend Background Tabs
Pauses intensive operations executed in background tabs until they're active again. Doesn't affect Flash or downloads. Very small, and restartless - recommended if you don't have an uber-PC.
Tab Utilities Lite
To color loaded tabs that have yet to be read and a few other things.
URL in Tab Tooltip
Exactly what it says.
User Style Manager
This is like Stylish, but uses less resources and you don't even have to restart.

I'm used to half-baked customization and limited extension (at least in comparison) from Opera's side. When I found how much Firefox can be changed to suit my needs, it's logical that I'd want to extensively do just that.
Not everything is so nice, though. I keep having this problem where the browser has CPU spikes every X seconds, stopping all activity until it unfreezes, it's so damn annoying. They start slow, then become more frequent until I can't type anything and the CPU usage is 6-10% when doing nothing. I think there's a memory leak somewhere. If anyone can confirm Adblock Plus and Ghostery eat a lot of RAM, or how effective RAMBack is, I'd appreciate it. For now I'm trying to disable those and use the Firefox 15 nightly build to see if there's a difference.

Chrome is fast, but that multi-process thingy... I've got 50 tabs open right now, if each was a process my computer would faint.
"I just remembered something that happened a long time ago."
I've just restarted it to install an addon and some tabs haven't been loaded yet, so the count won't be accurate. But When I wrote that post it was at ~400MB and rising.

It didn't do anything. I have, however, traced the source of the problem to excessively lengthy JavaScript garbage collection that runs all the time. Right now, I'm browsing with just NoScript, SimpleBlock and Suspend Background Tabs enabled, to see whether I should blame my addon selection.

It's one of my addons. Now I only need to find out which one...

No, screw that. Lag is back already.
If this stuff continues I'll have to go back to Opera. Sad but true.

Is there any FF addon for gmail. Basically I'd like to click on it and it would change my gmail accounts, so that I don't have to log off every time and type username and password.
GMail has supported that for a while now...
