    Freaking netbook

So I have a white net book. It's Samsung(can't find the model anywhere),Windows starter won't boot,it's in German, pressing F2 (for BIOS) will reboot.

    Wut do I do ?

Also forgot to tell you it also reboots every time windows starts.

Sounds like you have a virus in the boot sector, you need to reformat the drive/partition with the installation by booting from an installation disc. Set your BIOS boot order to read the CD/DVD drive first before it reads HDD1 and then save and exit.

Yes you will lose files/information on that partition, but it beats having an unusable netbook.

Usually, pressing Del when it's booting up will do the trick.

Del, F2, F5, F8 or F12... depends which BIOS you have. Try all of them (except F2, as you know that one isn't it)

@ anon : The netbook has no "del"
@ GymTanAndLaundry: I've already tried all of those.BIOS won't start.I've even tried shorting the jumpers in order to reset BIOS but it didn't work.

I eventually got into safe mode but I didn't know the pass so qq. This is the second time I wish I knew German.

Apparently it's called Entfernen (Entf) if the keyboard is in German as well.

You can also try removing the battery for 15 minutes or so.

If "qq" means "I must search for 'ntpasswd' or 'ERD 2007' in Google", then you're correct!

if u have some files u wanna keep just don't format yet
be sure is a virus and there is a simple way to get your files and backup and check if is some hardware problem

just download any linux live distro and boot from a usb or a dvd
i suggest UBUNTU which is easy to work
and in ubuntu page they give u the tools to put in a usb stick so u can backup your files
    Download Ubuntu | Ubuntu
u will see a option Try it from a CD or USB stick
click there and read the instructions

so u can enter on BIOS choose to boot from a usb or cd/dvd with live distro

BUT IF U CAN'T boot another OS maybe is a hardware problem
as far as i remember u can backup your files in the same USB u put the live UBUNTU
when u format u can leave some extra space

so i guess is better than loose your files unless u don't mind or don't have anything important to loose

Good to know.Too bad it reboots the netbook just like f2 or all the other things I've tried.
You can also try removing the battery for 15 minutes or so.
If only I knew where it was..and I'm partially afraid not to blow things up because it's not mine.
Also, for ERD 2007 and ntpasswd I need to be able to set boot order right ?

@ renji-kun: I am not able to change the boot order thus not able to boot Ubuntu or any other linux distro.

Yes, in that case you're screwed. Unless you can override the boot order and pick a device pressing F11 or something.

Sorry, I have a very small attention span.

I am tired now, will try more things tomorrow. Thanks for all the help guys.

    @seldom: I don't have access to BIOS.

SBfreak, it might be a default BIOS configuration to boot from USB and then, in case of failure to go to HD. I think it worth to try)

If you can't change the boot order maybe you could try to unplug the hdd, start the pc without it and see if you can boot a live windows dvd or usb stick. Once you are in the live-os, just re-plug the hdd, erase everything from it and install a bootloader like grub4dos. You need the bootloader in order to:
    a) boot off a device like dvd-rom. (ex: the hdd->grub->from there boot DVD drive) but it will only work for ide/ata drives.
    b) boot windows 7 setup files from another partition (can install windows directly from hdd)

This is my ideea. I have to agree that it looks complicated and unnecessary if you find another option. Still, if nothing else works I'll try to guide you through it. I can't think of another option if you can't change the boot order.
