    ATI Radeon HD3850 problem

So I have Radeon HD3850 graphic card. The problem is for some reason resolution 1920x1080 isn't as it's suppose to be. Instead I'm forced with 1680x1050.

    This one is 1680x1050

    And this one is 1920x1080

Imagine that this whole picture is 1680x1050, and when I change it to 1920x1080 it's like what's this red rectangle. It's much smaller.

Doesn't fit on my LCD screen, it looks really ugly. And the most strange thing is, before I got this card I was using Nvidia GeForce 6600 and it was working just fine. Resolution 1920x1080 was as it's suppose to be. Anyone has any idea what to do?

Simple question "Do have the latest Drivers installed?"
Does it happen with only this wallpaper?

Also it might be that your might have the default background color RED centered making the foreground color above the background.

I think its more of a wallpaper issue than GC

Let me get this straight... when you change to 1920x1080 resolution, your desktop looks weird and blurry? Because that usually means the LCD screen isn't running on its native resolution (which obviously isn't the case, as it looked good with the old card).

In any case, my vote goes to getting the latest drivers as well...

Yes I downloaded the latest drivers today!
I think you got the wrong idea. When I change to 1920x1080 resolution, the screen becomes much smaller. I can see black edges left, right, up and down. It' shame I can't show you guys with screenshoot.

I know this buggs me too!

Then the problem is simple, the screen's obviously not adjusted for the new resolution and refresh rate combo. Fixable using those buttons your monitor should have on its front.

I wish it was that. But it's not. I tried that already!

Is your ATI- GC overclocked? It might also be that it might be causing that problem or the refresh rate settings could also be the cause.

I have used ATI- 3470 and never faced such an issue though.
PS: Hope your monitor supports it

No it's not overclocked. The monitor is brand new, just 2 months old!

It could be that you have window's default driver for the MONITOR. Make sure you change it to your brand and model, and go to the advanced video settings and make sure the "Hide unsupported refresh rates" or something like that checkbox is checked, so you avoid that issue too.
Some monitors and video cards have "Zooming" features, it could be that too.
Sorry for the vagueness of my instructions, I dont remember this by heart.

Where do I see for the default windows driver?
The "Hide unsupported refresh rates" are already checked.

The device manager. If it says "Plug & Play Monitor" instead of, for example, "SONY SDM-S53", it's using the default driver.

It says "Plug & Play Monitor". Do I need to install the drivers for my monitor then?

One more thing. I managed to fix the resolution with an older drivers, but there's still this problem I'm getting all day long (even with newest drivers), I can't see some fonts for some unknown reason.

    I'd greatly recommend that.

That's pretty weird, did you try it on a different browser? Anyway, I'd install my monitor's drivers first.

Installed monitor drivers, but this problem with missing fonts is still there. This happens on FF and even when I launch Gears of War game! :/
    Works fine in Opera!

No idea as to why fonts would be affected by this.

Clear your FF cache and run a CCleaner registry scan, I'd say. Maybe that helps.
