    Question TPB limit trackers

I've noticed lately whenever I upload torrents to TPB it only uses it's own trackers, for example openbittorrent, tracker.thepiratebay.org. The torrent file I make can have 1 or 100 trackers but once I upload it to TPB it will force it to use 4 trackers I didn't even necessarily add. This is frustrating because often those trackers are down, I have a nice long list of 100+ trackers, including my own that I want to use, but it seems to filter them out.

Anyone have any idea why? Or maybe a way around it?

It didn't used to do that, some of my older torrents on TPB still work because of the 20 or so redundant trackers I added. Nobody seems to want to help on tpb's irc channel and suprbay has been down for a while. Thanks guys.

If TPB gives no other way to add ur own trackers then in the torrent description section give detailed instructions on how to 'easily' add other trackers to the torrent

Which brings me to my second problem; When I try to post a comment saying exactly that it says "database error" when I try to post all my trackers. Do they limit how much you can say in a comment?

they probably limit the number of characters, halve the tracker list then try again, if it works then just add the rest in another comment, however I have seen very long descriptions before, do u have java script disabled?

I don't think so, if the server is editing the .torrent file once you've uploaded it.

By the way, don't you think 100 trackers is too much? 10 should be more than enough, in my opinion.

you could also put the trackers list into a txt file and include it in the torrent you upload on tpb and in the torrent description on tpb just explain how to use the additional trackers, no need to list them all there (well, maybe the recommended few as anon mentioned) - downloading the txt file should be fast enough

as for the ones already uploaded, add a link in the comments section to where this explanation is located

yes that right and I actually downloaded a torrent hre the only thing was a huge list of announce trackers.

You may want to also format the text so its suitable for copy and paste into Vuze and iirc the ut takes a different format too for long lists of announce trackers

    It's the other way

In uTorrent you can just paste a torrent list as long as the URLs are separated by a line break, in Vuze you have to add them one by one I think.

Yes ut requires line break [return] and vuze needs a comma I think, line breaks doesnt work with Vuze
