I use older Firefox version because the newer one crash every time. And some addons don´t work. When I had my computer reinstalled it worked again. O.o
Hi Bomber
JonDoFox - Download - CHIP Online
And for Kuno
You must have installed an new Version of FireFox. Then you can install the JonDoe.
Look on Top for the Adress to downloading the Program
Viel Spass, have Fun

Firefox isn't best on longtime working. After 2-3 days i noticed that my old PC working much slowly and even with closed firefox it's doesn't help. Opera for example can work fine in one weeks and more.
Firefox works fine for me, with no crashes or incompatibilities. I'm running it on XP and Snow Leopard.
That's a little too much even for firefox. How many addons do you have?My FF catches more than 1GB of my RAM, including all addons etc.
Chrome FTW
I got roughly the same around the same addons active but my ff uses only about 200mb. You must be loading lots of graphics
dont ban me just spank me
it might be a memory leak somewhere

In most cases the memory leak is in the extensions. Some people really seem to have no clue about optimizing their code. I'm knocking on wood, thus far the coders of the extensions I use have proven to be pretty good coders.
In the time of this post I have two FF-Windows One with 1xTab, The other with 7 Tabs.
Total RAM usage 410 MB.
The above mentioned + 1GB-RAM-Usage exists when on more than 10 Tabs on both windows.
Imho, it seems to be a memory leaking problem, maybe from an addon.
As said, I am using a lots of addons on the same time.
I am not sure if there is a FF-Dev-Tool available which could analyze the RAM-Usage of the several addons...
I could upload a screenie of my addons, if this would help..

I have been looking into ways to find out how much RAM the extensions actually use, but I haven't found one yet. Sorry.
