Angry What Kaspersky Want For The Web

If you had the power to change up to three things in the world today that are related to IT security, what would they be?
    Internet design--that's enough.

That's it? What's wrong with the design of the Internet?
There's anonymity. Everyone should and must have an identification, or Internet passport. The Internet was designed not for public use, but for American scientists and the U.S. military. That was just a limited group of people--hundreds, or maybe thousands. Then it was introduced to the public and it was wrong…to introduce it in the same way.
If I were Bill Gates, I'd run another company--100 percent owned by Microsoft--that produces the antivirus under a different brand.

I'd like to change the design of the Internet by introducing regulation--Internet passports, Internet police and international agreement--about following Internet standards. And if some countries don't agree with or don't pay attention to the agreement, just cut them off.

I don't agree with any part of that statement.
what's wrong witth not having anonimity??

It strongly suggests the design for individual privacy. That's what.

It also suggests the need for privacy. Do private individuals like recieving spam and like being tracked as to thier likes and dislike while browsing??

    Most don't.

As for the AV owned by MS. I wouldn't trust taht even if I were paid for it.

It's common knowledge that MS used a cracked version of Sound Forge to create files that are inside the Windows Tour folder within XP.

    check it out yourself:

    Click "My Computer"
Double click the C:/ Drive (Local Disk)
    Double click the "WINDOWS" folder
    Double click the "Help" folder
    Double click the "Tours" folder
Double click the "WindowsMediaPlayer& quot; folder
    Double click the "Audio" folder
    Double click the "Wav" folder

You'll see a number WAV files. Right click any one of these, and open it with NotePad.

Scroll right to the bottom and you should see this:

    "2000-04-06 IENG Deepz0ne ISFT Sound Forge 4.5"

The first 4 digits may alter, but everything else is the same.

As you can see, Deepz0ne's cracked SoundForge was used to create these files, which is illegal. Also considering microsoft is against it cracking of it's OS and everything else that it's doesn't apporve of.

Look it up on your PC, you will see how much Microsoft are liars, and also fakes

So would I trust MS AV??

Nope. Because most likely they'll do some thing like monitoring my internet activity, or computer activity, or anything else that pleases them.

If they don't like me downloading stuff that is either related or not related, they could block such an action. Let's say for copyright purposess.

    and with respect to this:

    ...Internet passports, Internet police....
lots of ways to get around taht.

Maybe someday this sort of thing will actually become reality.
but in all honesty. I hope it is either minimized, not realized at all, or jjust plain shelved.

And every people tracked everywhere, again and again.

Kaspersky graduated from the Institute of Cryptography, Telecommunications and Computer Science, an institute co-sponsored by the Russian Ministry of Defence and the KGB[1] in 1987.

now if someone said that these guys are manufacturing viruses themselves to stay in the antivirus business, it wouldn't be so hard to believe it might be true, right?

The existence of anonymity is what makes the internet what it is today.

Aside from the obvious government regulation if users were required to identify themselves, this would have been the gateway to the death of net neutrality. It's like if AOL was still king. We'd be nickle and dimed for services we take for granted today.

And besides, anonymity on the internet only goes as far as the specific country's governmental regulation. If your country's government wants to control the government and requires identification, it can. China and Korea, for instance, both require heavy amounts of identification to register for the simplest services online.

I think that I made a mistake. I think what I meant to say is 'what is wrong with having anonimity', rather than 'what is wrong with not having anonimity'....ooops. Sorry.

well. that's an interesting idea to say the least. You would just hope that the virus that AV company ABC makes is blocked by AV company XYZ, yes?? Which, by the way, you would have instead on your HDD (XYZ, that is)
