Post CakeTorrent Makes Torrent Downloading a Snap!

As one of the more knowledgeable computer users among most of the people I know, I’ve had a lot of people ask me how to download things from the Internet, or how to use BitTorrent. After explaining to them what torrents are, how to install µTorrent, how to find and download .torrent files, etc. - well, the whole process can be a bit much for some people. Especially for those just starting out.

I thought of BitLet when I read the quote, and CakeTorrent indeed uses its engine to download torrents. It's basically BitLet + search

Another app that makes it easier for beginners to get torrents is Torrent2EXE - you must create an EXE for every torrent, though.

such nonsense - the only thing one needs is to know how to use internet/computer - everything concerning bittorrent is explained there

even children can use torrents - are these people saying they are less intelligent than children??

on the other hand a new way to download torrents is not something bad, we'll see how it works out

There's always the problem of fake torrents, though. If you've just started, that "movie" with a hundred (fake) seeders with all their bandwidth just for you is very tempting. I assume CakeTorrent's search engine tries to at least filter known ones.

you know, honestly, when I read the title 'caketorrent's, I thought to myself: 'I can download strawberry-bannana-berry-blue cream cake for desert today??""

And I don't mean the recipes either......

What will they think of next??

C'mon...you guys must've thought something different too wehn you first read the title.
    Don't lie.
    I know you did.

I didn't. And you talk as if there weren't already loads of sites for that kind of content.

as if that stopped anyone from making another 'clone' site or app

but i think i know what SealLion was aiming at - they promise/offer fool-proof downloading of torrents for utter noobs, yet on the other hand their site name is misleading - if those noobs came across it, since the site name isn't fool-proof, they wouldn't use it at all, thinking it has something to do with cakes?

...the chain is as strong as its weakest link

No, either I'm not very perceptive or he meant something totally unrelated.

The day you can download cakes also becomes the day you can punch people over the internet. And if you can do either of those, you will become rich as a mofo.

    Back to the topic:

Would announcing your client as BitLet allow for a release of using memory reader? Or would higher level trackers ban you?

I don't know how BitLet announces itself as. Few trackers ban you for using a banned client, but you'll of course be unable to download.
