Wikileaks: Higher Education Quarterly removed paper: Perspectives of UK Vice-Chancell

I don't know what to say here:......

This paper appeared briefly on the web site of the journal Higher Education Quarterly[1]. It is Perspectives of UK Vice-Chancellors on Leading Universities in a Knowledge-Based Economy by Lynn Bosetti, University of Calgary, and Keith Walker, University of Saskatchewan. The paper quotes ten different university vice-chancellors (presidents) of UK universities. Some of the comments caused quite a stir when they were quoted anonymously in an article of the Times Higher Education[2]. But the paper soon vanished and still has not reappeared

Some of the comments made were:

.....Branding and marketing take the front seat, and education is in the back."

    This has been well known.

"Corporations will create private universities when they perceive that university training is inadequate, too costly, unfocused and doesn't pay off in increasing employee loyalty,"

That was another comment made by one of the vice chancellors.

    Here's the link:

And here's the link for reading of some of the comments:

    Enjoy the read, folks.
    "God, from the mount Sinai
    whose grey top shall tremble,
    He descending, will Himself,
in thunder, lightning, and loud trumpet’s sound,
    ordain them laws".

we know that universities are run by a somewhat closed group of interconnected 'important' individuals who in many cases already have industrial experience/connections to their leaders or to the wealthy ruling class or the government - in other words they are a part of the 'elitist high society' responsible for a country's politics (visible/invisible or direct/indirect influence) - knowing this it isn't strange or unexpected to see them behaving like this & promoting selfish (minority) interests

"network of people involved in intelligence-gathering to be able to deal swiftly with even the faintest hint of revolution".
very intellectual concern for citizen freedoms, guess the military will be free to choose the response against civil disobedience

The paper's author, Lynn Bosetti, professor in educational leadership specialisation at the University of Calgary, said she could not release the research because she was still waiting for a participant's consent for quotes to be used.
well, that's why you need response deadlines

btw. waiting for the official 'censored' version...not!
