wikileaks: What Air France knew: flight AF447 ACARS Event PFR report and Technical Re

    This is an good article.

Wikileaks tell more at the link near the bottom of the post.

    Check it out:

Air France flight 447, an Airbus A330-300, crashed into the Atlantic ocean on June 1, 2009. The cause of the crash is not yet known.....Air France'(s) Techical Note 34-029.... has been circulating in the pilot community since the 22nd of June...In a nutshell, these reports are caused by unreliable anemometric data provided by the aircraft's pitot-probes. While they do not offer a conclusion for the accident, they appear to be central to the event....the probes were acknowledged as having shortcomings - 7 incidents are documented in the Technical Note of previous flights encountering unreliable anemometric discrepencies
It appears that Air France, Airbus, EASA and the BEA have downplayed this matter and have, instead, focused attention on meteorological conditions

Unfortunately, AirFrance was too late in making a better decision and ultimately, waited until an aircraft of thiers had to crash.

    Question

    unreliable anemometric data
this data is probably not of crucial importance to the plane security/stability and can manually be overridden if necessary

imo this incident takes too long to resolve, something is not right

    so far we have:

    - plane malfunctions (non-essential equipment) - leaked? info
    - no back communication other than automated error signals (suspicious)
    - no radar/satellite imagery (suspicious)
    - weather problems (planes get in contact with these on a regular basis, so nothing new or too dangerous here)
    - passenger manifest still not revealed?
    - 'black box' 30 day signal limit until it shuts down
    - fake or coincidental debris near the incident (not related)

    alternative sources guessing:

    - ufo sightings at the same day
    - bomb threats a few days earlier on the same line
    - brasilian military involvement
    - missile fire possibility

looks like a lot of unknowns, where are those satellite/radar images

Worse still, another plane crashed today, on it's way to the Comoros (I think)... I'm starting to think aircraft safety features just don't work.

apparantly, from what I understand, the Indian airline is supposedly the worst in the world with respect to safety. AT least that's what I understood when I first came across that news some years ago. I don't know if that has changed or not. I would like to think positive and hope that safety related matters in the Indian airline industry have changed for the better.
