They keep underestimating Matt Hamill's game and they keep on falling. In the case of Mark Munoz, he fell hard and was asleep on the way down after a nasty right head kick that landed above the Filipino's ear. Referee Dan Miragliotta jumped in to the stop fight as Hamill half-heartedly threw three more punches.
Surprisingly the fight only hit the ground for roughly 15 seconds. Munoz, the 2001 NCAA 197-pound wrestling champ, tried five takedowns and could not get the fight to the floor. The fight turned into a boxing match but Munoz got sloppy and started dropping his hands. He also had the bad habit of putting his back on the cage and trying to duck to avoid Hamill's shot. "The Hammer" would land 5-6 punches during those scenarios on the cage. Munoz did it one final but instead of throwing a jab, Hamill switched things up with the brutal head kick, Munoz ducked right into it like he saw a left jab coming.
