Fake speedtest.net?

I've brought a little new treat for ya all... its funny to see how speedtest just adds a new security check (the referrer) and it ruins both cheating methods. But wait, they are not completely ruined, at least not the web based one.

As it has been already made public, I see no harm in posting the following guide:

If you want to get the monitur web page working again, just fake the referrer to speedtest.net as "http://cdn.speedtest.net/flash/speedtest.swf?v=330847"

For mortal people:
1) Install the refcontrol firefox add-on
2) Open the RefControl settings window, under tools
3) Click "Add site"
4) Site: speedtest.net
Custom: http://cdn.speedtest.net/flash/speedtest.swf?v=330847
5) Click Ok

and you are all set, now you can use the web based faker again!

Make sure you didn't make any typo, and that refcontrol is running correctly on firefox... I would recommend sniffing a real test, just to check the "referrer". Probably its a bit different than mine, specially on the last part v=330847. Also sniff your fake "attempt" to make sure refcontrol is correctly sending the referrer

ok..now i guess they fixed that :( it doesn't works anymore

can you confirm that?

Has been deleted, I suppose stest.net admins/webmasters/coders aren't idiots and are monitoring this forum or any other forum which tries to manipulate results, because only some people with some privileges can delete speedtests, no?

either we've reported to them by angelic dudes from those who try to "save the bittorrent from cheaters", - who are usually traders/scammers/cheaters themseleves-.
or its a frequent action by stest.net to monitor things around them

If you want to check the speed test means you can check the speed test here ip-details.com and also get the ip address,ip details,internet speed test,etc.....

What do I type in the server & ping boxes.
In the server I copied a server address from here : http://speedtest.net/speedtest-config.php
don't know if thats right

I actually read the whole thread, before posting, I thought that refcontrol addon made it work.
