i have been using: no upload and show 0% done on TL for years now and still no problems. the cheatdetection lvl in that tracker is baaad :)

about this top ten thing, I do not show up in the top ten if I haven't DLed more than a gig right?

so could I flash as much as I want before reaching 1 GB or is there some other risk involved?

I have DLed stuff just not enough to get me a full GB and haven't flashed before

It's an average, but I think that if you don't download more than a gig while having a bad ratio or haven't flashed too much upload on a new account, you won't be there at all.

so everyone's strategy from now on should be 'flash as much as you want before you have downloaded a GB and use 100% download reduction with VEM + no upload for a while, until your average upload speed would be something that isn't shown in the top ten, then proceed to become PU'

That will still show you in the Top 10.

Don't download more than a gig while having a bad ratio = you're not shown in the "Top 10 worst sharers"
Don't flash too much upload on a new account = you're not shown in the "Top 10 uploaders"

ok now I'm confused, I think you're not going to appear in any top ten until you have downloaded a GB but whatever, you can still use 100% download reduction with vem for those that are interested

Yes, of course. You can do that to download without going over the 5GB "download mercy" while your account is new.

thankfully TL has no scripts since I doubt that option works on many trackers, I mean, wouldn't it be suspicious that someone sends the completed flag after some hours of being connected yet no download activity was recorded? I tried the show you as a seeder option but then I couldn't leech from anyone (always using speed mode++)

just to clarify I haven't actually used it much...the only tracker with scripts I've used it on is scenefz, I tried flashing and they found me they didn't bother banning me, they only auto-warned me so I tried that to fix my ratio and it worked, other trackers I've tried are TL, puretna, filelist and asiandvdclub.org (works in all of them)

Yes, though sending the "completed" flag is easily avoidable.

Yes. Serenity lets you not send that flag, and so does the Extreme Mod.

oh right, that option up there, I remember reading your tutorial and it said that we shouldn't use it so I forgot about it...which means that this is the only scenario we should use it, but is it really safe on trackers like the .bz ones and others?

I mean from a staff member's/script's pov you see someone in the peerlist who has downloaded and uploaded 0 KBs (no upload turned on) and whose completed % is God knows what (cause if you put show as seeder you don't download from others)

I guess what matters is not uploading, if you can use that technique so as to never increase your download you shouldn't really need to increase your upload anyway...now if it can work on trackers like what.cd or the .bz sites, I don't really want to test it...

It's safe everywhere (as far as I know), the idea here is only using it when necessary, since it can draw attention in manual checks.

If you put "show as seeder", you're shown as 100% done.

I guess what matters is not uploading, if you can use that technique so as to never increase your download you shouldn't really need to increase your upload anyway...

Only for promotions and the like, but if you don't want that, that method should be fine wherever it works...
