    "server rotation" option bei emule darkstar

    ich hab letztens beim darkstar emule-mod gesehen, dass es eine server rotation option gibt die man aktivieren kann. hab aber leider bisher nicht rausgefunden was das für einen vorteil haben könnte.
    weiß jemand vielleicht was das nützen könnte?

    Dadurch wechselt dein emule nach einer gewissen Zeit automatisch die Server. Wenn man die Server.met davor entsprechend säubert und auch nicht updaten läst ist es eine recht nützliche Funktion da man dadurch schneller an neue Sourcen von verschiedenen Servern kommt. Obwohl man diese warscheinlich auch irgendwann durch KAD oder durch source exchange bekommen hätte.

    Not-so-bad? It can actually be very good, since it is a non-frowned upon (unless you're rotating all the time, which hammers servers) way to get more sources and speed-up your downloads, which works really well at times.

    You just have to make sure you have a clean server list. Most out there can't be trusted anymore, since they have lots of fake "ultra uploader" and "high id connection" servers that just hurt the network spamming your search results or not replying with any at all - and most of the time those who offer server.met files with those inside for download don't do it in purpose, but aren't aware of this.

    I think that these are probably the only good servers remaining in the eD2K network - they aren't blocked by PG's official list nor hi-security ipfilter I use with eMule, and work well from self-experience.
