(well, basically yes, but from a programmer's point of view Quake has a lot to hit Doom with: dynamic lights, an actual 3D world - Doom was a so called "2.5D" game, where the its levels are actually bidimensional, but the game's engine renders them as a tridimensional scene. Yet you can't have one floor over the other or look up & down because all the game can "see" to render is a 2D blueprint of the level. - , etc. But for me Doom is a lot more fun than Quake )
