How to use two or more different uTorrent versions at the same time

    Hi,

some of you maybe know the problem.
You want to leech/seed on two or more different tracker and you only want to use uTorrent but there's no version which is allowed on all tracker.

So, you want to use two uTorrent versions at the same time, but you don't know how.
It's very easy if you know how to do.

First you should create a own folder for every version.
Then you create a settings.dat file in every folder, so that the settings of each uTorrent version are saved in the folder of the specific version.
The first version you can start normally.
To start the second one you have to add a parameter.

You can do this using the command line or by starting the version with a shortcut, which is more comfortable.
So, just create a shortcut to the second version.
Then right-click and go to properties.
At the "Target" path you add "/recover" without the "...".
    It should look like this:

If you now start the second version using the shortcut, the second version will be started although another version is already running and you can use both versions at the same time.

You can do this several times, and so you can multiple versions of uTorrent at the same time.

now backslashes don't appear in the code block in your post you can use this image to show how the shortcut's command-line should look:

As long as you don't use the same torrent files and the same ports there's no problem.
But it's better not to use the same download folder, and of course not the same folder to save the torrent files.

you could also have a "leech" uT (6kb upload limit, 1 global upload slot, BIG amount of max connections, etc.) and then, when that torrent is completed, carry the resume.dat to a "seed" uT, without upload limit, plenty of slots, etc... which can boost your ratio in torrents with a small amount of seeds and lots of peers it's more or less like seedboxing with your own PC

    Thumbs up

what about peer_id's for announces, would they be the same for both clients, and if not which value would RM (its memory reader) read?

should the previously used number of connections now be divided (by manually setting them) between all running clients?

it would be best if the xtreme mod could perfectly spoof multiple client versions at the same time and the user just picks which version should be spoofed for a specific tracker, with a safety option to prevent from using different spoofs on torrents from the same tracker, and a history log of used spoofs, and...and...

would such a thing be hard to implement?

No, they'll be different ones. But I don't really know what would happen if both uTorrents have the same EXE name...

Better use different filenames for each version.

Yes, or else you'll saturate your connection. Same goes for the upload slots and speed limit, port, and download folder.

You can be sure it takes good programming skills to achieve it.

Separate spoofs for individual torrents has already been suggested before... but ghostfucker is busy at the moment.
