No, it effectively shut down on 2018 along its TV counterpart after the only person able to fix server problems on both vanished. Sucks for all the content that was lost, but other than that I can't say I care.

Interestingly, the same had occurred to FTN on 2014, would repeat itself at Waffles on 2019, and almost happened to PTP this very year. Chain of trust is an important thing when running a tracker, but you'd think these people would learn from history and have some sort of backup plan.

Just like that, apparently. Some former staff members created a new tracker (not sure whether it got anywhere or still exists), but it was basically a spiritual sequel as no backup of the old database was available.

Yes, except FL gave everyone generous advance warning, and that fortunately allowed two trusted faces to show up and completely turn the situation around.

yeah..i know..at first i taught ..ok so even fl is closing..that means only "winter is finally comming" when it comes to torrent trackers , they are done,strange enough without any new antipiracy law being enforced,after i saw the issues where fixed,won't close,i got my hopes again up,altough comparing with 2010 - 2015 only 20% of them are still up and running

Not sure if it's only 20%, but I definitely agree there has been a net decrease in the amount of active trackers since those days (see http://www.sb-innovation.de/showthread.php?t=33773). Mind you, a few of those "losses" were so in name only.
