    What do you think about this strategy?

    I’m using BiglyBT Extreme Mod.

    The idea:
    There is a tracker where I need to seed something to obtain bonus points. But because of the lack of HDD space I can't keep my hard occupied. So I want to look like I'm seeding but without having the files in my PC.

    Scenario 1:
    I was thinking when I'm adding a torrent to unmark all the files (to download nothing) and to add the torrent as stopped and then from Extreme Mod Settings → tick Fake report to tracker → tick No reporting → tick Show you as a seed (100% done) (see the picture here)

    Scenario 2:
    The same as scenario 1 but to use the settings from Extreme Mod General Settings → tick Ratio tool → and just write 100 (%) in Finished box. (see the picture here)

    Then set the torrent on force seeding.

    As you can notice from the pictures, normally, I'm setting each torrent individually and not from the „general” options. I prefer to work in this way.

    My questions are:
    How much safe is to fake it in this way?
    How much detectable is this?
    Are there some tweaks to keep me safe from being caught?
    Are there any better options to do this?

    Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Don't forget scenario 3, which is essentially the same as the other two: all files unticked, enable option 18e, set both speeds on 18k to zero and leave everything else turned off.

    As for safety, only do it on torrents you've already snatched or can be found elsewhere in the same exact form, and preferably have lots of other seeders (so that your complete lack of upload is less noticeable).

    @anon,
    that old VEM screenshot... :

    @Dunisez,
    Here is something you can try (I wanted to try that a long time ago): keep a few files.
    so if you have a TV Show or mini series, you can delete 80% of the episodes and keep the rest. you still save a lot of space on HDD and you still actually seed and upload.
    (this doesn't make anon recommendations obsolete!)

    obviously won't work when a single file makes 90%+ of the torrent (movie remux/bluray)
