You prick, you kept hitting on her after she got married, so you're going to have to explain how this marriage thing makes a difference. Preferably using simple words so that a moron like myself may understand.

Anyway, I'm very happy to hear you're better off than the last time we spoke and have new skills under your belt. Three years is a long time to be stuck as "a slave to the company with shit pay", though. How did you get roped into that?

I wouldn't have accepted a deal like that.

But after 3 years i will have the life i always wanted.
    What makes you think that?

Well hellman got married in march and is in love and living happily with the love of his life
I hope it turns OK for you, wish you all the best.
I'm never getting married. The responsibilities are overwhelming, and the love is only temporary.

That just means I'm allowed to hit back on him now. I think? !
I'm guessing he's stuck there because they paid for the education? You usually have to pay a big chunk if you leave early. If it's not something like that, I'm sure you can pretty much pack your bags and leave whenever you wish to.

@Sazzy: maybe you and hellman should get married. Hey, why not? I'll be the first official SB-I marriage since 2007.

When are people going to realise that nothing in this world is free? (yes, I know slik is going to intervene). The house always wins - casino analogy that can be adapted to anything.
    Thanks

Sorry to disappoint but I am hella gay. Otherwise, sure! It'll be a lovely ceremony! Everyone's invited, of course.
Aww.. Now I'm sad hellman didn't invite me for his wedding...

I laughed out loud. Some times these things are free though. Like, the second place I worked at hired tons of people graduating every year. Because people graduating don't really know all that much, they give them a real world crash course that takes 6 months. (Kind of sucks, studying for six months after you finally get out of school!)
A lot of these people stay and still work for the company, but a lot of them also left after, like, a year? Some times even less. There were never any repercussions for leaving. But I'm guessing this isn't very common. Most jobs I've had also pay for your studying books and exams to get certifications (no strings attached). And these get costly really fast too.

I know. I'm as dissapointed now as I have been in 2010.
I think i'm the only one who isn't in love with you.

It's not always about the money. It could be a requirement to do or forbid something. The company always gains something by training you.
    Thanks

Different background is a taboo here. So i knew it was going to be tough, this company gave me an opportunity to fix my background.
I got rejected in first interview because they told me directly that my background is an issue otherwise i have good knowledge and they gave me pointers what to say about my background so that i can get selected next time.
My second interview was in another company and i cracked it and i agreed to the terms to fix my background. 2 and a half years more and i can get job anywhere i want with a good pay. Companies here give shit pay to freshers but good pay to experienced developers. So ....

The first company I worked for gave me some pretty expensive HP reading material about laser printers, and was going to pay for my A+ exam before I went Alt+F4 on them. As I see it, doing this ensures you'll be skilled and capable of doing the tasks they expect from you, and inspires a certain degree of loyalty, as they aren't treating you like a disposable and replaceable drone. Whether you see this as a sort-of manipulative tactic or just another operational cost, it all evens out as long as a certain percentage of these new people remain with them.

Also, they have deals on this sort of thing, so those courses and certifications don't cost them the same price apiece as they would cost you if you pursued them on your own.

I see. Different background plus not having a lot of experience or references with Java yet means you didn't have a lot of negotiation ground. Those terms still feel draconian, though, but hang in there. Three years is plenty of time and you never know what opportunities may come your way. (And in a worst-case scenario, you can make a difference by ripping copper wiring from the walls and selling it in the black market )
