That's great news, hope they get it right. I think the Mini Playstation flopped because Sony was too greedy and over confident with it, maybe they thought the name alone would be enough to bring everyone to their knees, which of course didn't happen. Shitty selection of games and also too limited at that. Lack of Dual Shock controllers, lack of a "home" button to make changing games easiers, etc. That being said I think this could only a tiny piece of ornament to use in your shelf or something like that.

I was also disappointed with the classic NES/SNES/FAMICON/SuperFAMICON releases because in this era of "cheap" storage, there's no excuse why these classic consoles shouldn't come bundled with ALL their released games. I mean come one, some of these games are 30 years old or more.

Agreed on all counts. The excuse for not adding more or all games is that it isn't possible because they're still copyrighted and licensing them would be too costly and/or complicated. But both Sony and Nintendo could have done much better than a small selection of "greatest hits". Other than the retro feel, I see little reason to buy these things instead of using a gamepad and playing on a computer using an emulator.

PS: this Mini Genesis would technically be Sega's first new console in over two decades

Looks like this one is also going to run preloaded games only after all.

This site has "retro" on its name, so it's got to qualify for this thread. In any case, it's a very good centralized repository of patches, fixes and drivers for old systems.

Demo CDs were so exciting back then. Wonder how many people remember Sony's "U R Not e" slogan?

The company that made it went bankrupt, so I don't think it would ever happen. With that said, if you get the ISO, ePSXe and a good graphics plugin that can do texture filtering and smoothing, you can "remake" any game. Some even have fan patches and mods available.

In Quake 3, there was no camping, cheap tricks or pay2win. You either played well or got killed. Sadly this didn't have much appeal among gamers in my area, only MMORPGs were able to rival Counter-Strike's popularity.

Amazing gameplay, this is real old school. Some crazy aerial rockets, so precise. I loved to play Q3 back in the day with friends on LAN, but it was as you said, people in Lanhouses cared more for MMORPGS and CS. I even tried to engage my friends on Warcraft 3 and Battlefield games back in 2002 but to no avail, it was CS all day.

I wasn't anywhere near this skilled with the railgun (which landed instant hits), let alone the rocket launcher

Coincidentally, I read a few posts about "net cafe memories" on /r/Argentina some days ago. So many relatable comments. Here at least, those places had their boom throughout the 2000s when not everyone had a computer and Internet access at home, but now there isn't a single one left in my area.

Thumbs up if you're using this on... 1998? I know I had the floppy disk version until I no longer had it.
