Exclamation This is why you must pick a good power supply.

Some people think a power supply is "just" a supply, and that you're fine with whatever you choose as long as you give yourself some breathing room with the maximum wattage. Well, watch those no-name ones pop and do fireworks at just two thirds of their alleged maximum load, then get back to me.

For your mobile phone, a charger isn't "just" a changer either: A dozen USB chargers in the lab: Apple is very good, but not quite the best

Happened with me like 2-3 times until I wasted some money on powerful one due the power dropping off in my area too many times.

My system takes a maximum of 450W or so and I'm using 750W Seasonic.

I once bought a Seventeam 550w "real" PSU and some time later, 1 year I think, it blew while I was gaming, I heard something blast inside the PC case like a lamp glass breaking. The PSU never worked again, the warranty was overdue and couldn't find a technician who could do service on it.

    I'm super-happy with my Enermax Platimax 850W

Before I used a cheap PSU...and destroyed it while I did some OC (CPU+GPU). With Platimax all stable.

It always better to have a few more Watts then needed. Also when you want to upgrade your hardware some day.

    Depends.

If you have money, it is best to just replace the whole system every 2 years.
If you are poor, then it is best to buy hardware that allows you to upgrade.

it all comes down to money. Overclock was always the poor man's choice, as well as upgrades.

And if you're poorer, you take what you can get.
