I used WinRAR before I found 7-Zip If you don't need to create RAR archives, the functionality is fairly identical.

not much of change since the old post but so far there are some I must have to start working on the machine.

Winrar - always the first to install
    NotePade++
    Chrome/FireFox
    VLC
    dBpoweramp - best Audio converter
Internet Download Manager - the second to install

Now the rest is for any personal machine I would use

    BEncode Editor
    mR
Snagit for screen capturing, even for simple tasks
    Extreme mod
Camtasia - Screen Video Recording. Same as Snagit but in video
VSCode & PHPStorm - Web development
    mkvtoolnix
Winamp for music. Yes I still use this damn old sh*t
    MPC-BE
Aqua Data Studio - Database Sh*t

Did you ever try AIMP 3 instead? When I did, I deleted Winamp instantly.

You win the SB-I award to good taste! Winamp 2.95 forever

For Android, I like MX Player. It works and can also play video.

    TeraCopy
Recently gave it a second try by recommendation of someone else here, and I was very impressed by how much it has changed since version 2.x, which was basically a fancy interface for the standard Explorer copy function. Very much worth checking out.

The only thing I dislike about TeraCopy is when it finishes moving files it doesn't highlight them as windows does.

Try 3.8.5 and you'll see what I'm talking about. The unregistered version has no time limit and only misses a few unimportant features; I didn't even bother looking for a crack.

Lack of torrent support is not what I was getting at... ProtonVPN and Cryptostorm are the only free VPNs I can recommend, and I'll still take Tor over either of them.

If watching and making short video clips is worth what the app does behind your back when it is installed and active, then go for it, nya

To be fair, all four have done things that make it difficult to trust them, although a few European countries are better than the rest. With that said, if Russia (or other so-called emerging superpowers like India or Brazil) designed and built its own hardware, I think I'd find it more trustworthy than US products made in China
