Yes that´s true. I also thought on the latest Need For Speed. There is no release from this game. I think i should buy this game, because i played all parts of this series.

i just hate the fact that the game dosent have so much action as it ought to but lovely graphics

greed mostly - wich in IT world means- why to optimize for older CPU's also from the start ,when we can force them to upgrade hardware to play the game properly - all BIG GUYS are working togheter in a vicious cicle to force the clients to buy new hardware ,upgrade each year when they launch of a new game from a franchise - what better example will be more accurate than iphone slowing down olders models to see how crooked they are all of them - since i think a decent CPU - VIDEO card and hardware will be more than enough to run decent for all the games that will launch in avg minim 3 years, but no, they implement something to make you upgrade ,altough they could make the game or software to work from the launch - like it happends before with unity, mafia 3 and so on ,they've worked at first decent only for the highest end PC's - and after a time - after update- Strangely they have fixed all the hardware incompatibility and optimizations - pretty obvious what they are looking for - when a game is launched - first they make money from the game sales and second via affiliate sales made from upgrade - since the games are constructed on PC's that have AMD CPU's or INTEL CPU's - or NVIDIA or ATI(AMD) - depends wich of them offer more to be workstation at first

I remember when Witcher 3 launched and people with the last year GPU like GTX 780 where getting a bad experience in the game regarding optimization, framerates and the alike where one of the new lower tier cards, a GTX 960 was outperforming a GTX 780! After a lot of backlash in GeForce forums from Kepler users, the drivers team finally "found" some optimizations for the GTX 780 users, now that's some miracle right?

that would be very risky regarding the sales and their reputation, i'm thinking it has more to do with tight schedules, lack of testing, distributor demands, lack of able personnel and ideas, greed, game complexity, pressure, etc.

Personally, I attribute these fuckups to laziness more than anything else. Why bother to optimize and add support for more hardware when the game's still going to sell?

I think laziness would be pretty disrespectful to the last gen video card owners like in the example I posted above. I still believe they do it on purpose.

@alpacino : i believe that anon has also half of the truth - maybe - on some game release -when this things started to happen at first it was because the laziness , but in time laziness turned to be intent laziness -since it can't be coincidence on blame it just on laziness when it happens more than once

when you could just put 'it on launch with the promise updates in the near future (if we still want since already we have taken your money} until than to sell also the hardware attributed to Recommended System Requirements - since 75% of hardware that is selled for PC is just for gaming ,or it was ,until E-COINS
